Police find hash stash growing in bomb shelter

A shotgun-toting Carver man dug a hole for himself after police uncovered a bomb shelter behind his home that he’d allegedly converted into a bong bunker packed with marijuana plants, powerful growth lamps, timers and a complex assembly of fans and duct work to help the baby plants grow into money trees, police said.
William Nickologianes, 36, was arrested Thursday and charged with cultivating marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and possession of steroids, police said.
Nickologianes’ alleged scheme fell apart after a fight with his live-in girlfriend got out of hand and he was arrested for assault and battery and illegal possession of a shotgun. Fearing for her safety, his girlfriend filed a restraining order against him and had Carver police Sgt. Marc Duphily and Officer Joseph Ritz escort her to the couple’s home to retrieve some of her belongings.
“While doing so, the officers observed a plastic shopping bag full of marijuana, smoking apparatus associated with drug use and other drug paraphernalia,” police said in a press release.
After Nickologianes returned home, cops got a warrant and during a search found several small amounts of marijuana around the home and a bucket full of stems and buds, “indicating recently grown marijuana,” police said.
The source of the recently grown plants was found in the backyard, where cops uncovered a 10-foot-deep pit connected to a gigantic 20-foot-by-40-foot underground room packed with several marijuana plants in varying stages of growth, police said.
Nickologianes was arraigned yesterday, his second appearance in as many days, where he pleaded not guilty and was released.

wow...you would think you're safe in an underground bomb shelter! he would have been fine if he didnt go all crazy and fight with his girl. once they were in the house anything they saw was fair game i.e. bags of buds, stems, and anything else indicating recently grown ganja. that sucks..i bet he had a nice setup going

unless you are in a very long term commited stable relationship...never ever ever tell your sweetie about your grow...it is bound to be the first thing they come at you with if there is a bad break-up or fight...Hard to believe in the throws of extacy or the bloom of a new relationship...but count on it!

or make sure your partner's a grower too; then it's a wash......unless she rolls and goes state's evidence against you.

one more of the kind: "don't fight with your lady if you grow" - he pulled a shotgun on her?! we are better of with that nut case of our streets guys, such people are the cause why we can be still portrait as viscous greedy criminals - not that i'm for the measures of prohibition but this guy needs an good head wash.

I used to have a friend that had a 3 bed room house with a 2 car garage all rooms exepct 1 was cramed FULL of plants. He grew for about 8 or 9 years, without any probs. Then one day somebody stoll his car, when the cops came to fill out a report ,they could smell his grow. They came back the next day with a warrant. 16 months later he was free.

That's why I only grow for personal use.

and that smell man i knew a guy you could smell it out in the steet walking by and the houses were close. so we had to do something

we didn't know about carbon or ozone back then, so we vented out the roof in one of those turbines with a big fan put right under and the turbine ran All the time;

even on no wind days; which was suspicious if u walked by but it kinda worked and dispersed the smell

not sure how he kills smell now since we aint partners anymore.

I know this situation to well. I had a situation long time ago, where it sent me to James town Pen for 14 months. All because of a girl at the end of the day. I don't like talking about it only cause of the shitty memories in there. be safe people.

Wow, I sure wish I had a 20X40 underground lair to tend my babies. "Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned!" Moreover this guy sounds a little bit off kilter, steroids and shotguns. Who ever heard of a muscle bound man needing a shotgun to settle an argument with his lady. I wish no time in jail for anyone, but maybe this guy was on the verge of coming loose anyway. Steroids and psychoactives can be a frightening combo, maybe a little rest for this gentleman would do him some good.

I think his grow was pretty secure... but agree with 'g nobody'...there is a difference between medical grow & people on the edge.Course I wasnt there so I dont really know all the sxxx. Compared to the New Jersey gut with MS I'd say there might be a diff.

I agree 100%. I spent 7mos locked up for possession in Tn. People like this gentleman here give folks like us a bad rep. Whether you are a Medicinal user or a Rec. user we are united in a peaceful cause. This Kat was not like us, we are better off with this guy in his new home. Just my 2cents.

Well friends I have been super lucky in the effect that in 5 years I have never had a single problem but then again I havent said or done ANYTHING that would relate me to any of this activity. I did alot of thinking before I lifted a finger and so far it has worked. I dont know about the future of this country but i find it much safer to grow my medicine than put myself or another friends ass out there at risk obtaining and transporting.
Illinois has had Legal Medical Marijuana Laws since the 80s but to this date I know of noone that has had a Doctor here prescribe it for them. We Need bigtime work to overcome that! I told myself several years back that I cant handle prescription meds and for me Pot is my only relief. OK i'm rattlin guy's so forgive me just my feelings.
I dont care how secure your op may be. ANYTHING can and usually always does happen(to some poor helpless soul). This doesn't have to be this way!. My advice and thats just MINE is if you live in the states

I know of two people that got stupidly excited when they lucked out and grew a nice closet garden of AK(supposedly their first grow ever!) and just had to show their friends. DONT DONT DONT!!!!!! Thats not security thinking friends. You might as well close up shop and abort mission immediately. Cops aint the only people you have to watch out for guy's. Friends tell friends, they tell their friends and well you get the picture. Dont visit other grow ops or talk grow outside your place. NEVER ship anything or connect your op by papertrail (bills, Credit Cards, etc) Dont order seeds online or by mail to your place. NO WAY. Yep right now your telling yourself why is this guy tellin me somethin i already know???? Because I love you guy's one and all and I just want all of us to have a safe feeling. Anymore tips please let me in.
I honestly have not been out of personal stash (3 diff varieties) since I began but it took alot of work and headscratching and even some dissapointment but it's all good these days and I manage my condition so nicely.
