Hi all

I thought I was being stealthy in here using a proxy tunnel, only to hit the
Amazon box and see "Hello..." my real name pop up. Amazon knows who I am because of previously stored cookies on this computer, but I never went to Amazon through this site. Now they know I did. I feel my personal security has been breached and I suggest you be sure all cookies are cleared and you choose the Amazon "opt-out" before making the same error I did.

If I'm over-reacting, I'd appreciate someone who knows please straighten me out. As it is, I'm expecting advertising mail from Amazon on topics I'd prefer they didn't know I was interested in.

If you use a cell phone or ANY other electronic form of communications
including walki's and voice monitors.

In the 70's we could scan all the above.
In the 80's we could listen and scan in real time all of the above.
Now we listen, scan, and record all of the above.

ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Only ways are don't use electronic communications of any kind.
Breach someone else's security to 'travel' as them.

I'm sure there's a lot of truth in what you say, but I felt fairly secure going through an anonymous ip address. At least my particular ip address wasn't being announced everywhere I might go. I'd hope you could share with us just how much and what kind of info Amazon gets from anyone accessing them through this site, and if we should feel safe using the Amazon link here at GP.

If you use ANY form of electronic communication:
There-is-no-anonymity. None. You are retained.
All of it/us. Why? Because they can and they are VERY good at it.
If you don't give them a reason to mine your history
then there is not much to worry about...
mostly..

As for Amazon recognizing you, thats simply cookie and browser
management.

I'm not kidding people, I was connected to this field for almost
30 years.
EVERY SINGLE BIT OF ELECTRONIC DATA, WORLDWIDE, is
captured and stored.
Just be thankful we suck at searching it in any meaningful
way,..yet.

That's a scary, I'm sure "they" have the ability to listen in & capture anything they want and have done for longer than we would imagine, but everything worldwide captured & stored, didn't know that. It was always on the cards, just didn't realise it was already here....
All part of the coming NWO, which is really scary depending on whose version you believe...

Google is a pretty big clue.

Sure they might gather it all, store it all, etc.etc.etc. But unless they have a REASON to seperate your info from all the rest, there is so much to go through, THEY DON'T CARE!!!

Think about it.....does the phrase needle in a world of haystacks mean anything ???

And why would you think you yourself soooo special they would spend that time on you?

If anyone should be paranoid it should be me....I am the owner of record here, and therefore whatever happens on this site is on me....so just because they can, doesn't mean they will.

Be realistic. They collect the info for marketing, and for making money. They don't give a good gaul darn what the h you do. They just care about how they can pay their bills with your info.

You can live in fear or live a normal life.
