Default Women Growers

Hey gals, I was wondering how many of you are involved with growing. If so, how involved are you? Do you help decide on varieties to grow, do you have your own plants, etc.

When Mr and I first started out(back in July), it was completely his project. But as time went on, I took an active interest in the grow. Now it has become our project, a hobby we share together. I think this is a great way for couples to share life together, a mutual passion. Now the hubby and I are going to be growing our own separate plants and will be having a contest soon. I'm gonna grow in soil, he's gonna grow in a bubble bucket.

I'd love to hear from other members!!

Well it IS interesting, that much I can say.

A while back, I attempted to do a hydro but it started off badly and the MR. took over. It was very much needed... With all the nutrients and bat guano, etc. it got too overwhelming for me!

But, it was saved after all.

So, I leave that type of gardening to him. I deal with the other plants and flowers around the house!

Well I do all the growing. My hobby. Hubby has a medical card also but he is my grower only in case I forget some "medicine" in the car or whatever then he is legal too.

With OCPD I would be too paranoid to grow without being legal. I am the type that checks the locks at night A LOT.

But to strains. I have alwasy been partial to ATF (Alaskan Thunder Fuck). I can cuss as long as it's the name of a strain of pot. Gee that felt good.

I am going to try Williams Wonder. A fellow mm patient let me try theirs and it is very good. Nice and mellow, no expanding or harsh kick to it. The taste is very smoothe too. But the part I really like is that it is mold resistent. Living in the Pacific Northwest we get lots of rain and it is very humid.

I am also giving an old favorite another try next season and that is WheelChair. These seeds were given to me when I first got my mm card by my local compassion center. So they are several years old but this is very good stuff. The name says it all.

Hashberry is another I am going to try but this will be indoors only. A mm friend that lives a ways away told me that this plant tends to have a problem with bud rot in our wet climate. So inside is the way to go.

The one thing that my hubby loves to do it look for bugs with the scope. It's fine with me one less thing to mess with. He will spend an hour or longer out there says it's like watching the Sci Fi channel.

Default Hi Mogie and the other women growers

I have been growing for about 16 years now but hubby does not toke and stays out of my grow. I'm presently in the midst of getting my mm card and have an assortment of strains flowering at the moment plus I am vegging some others for an early outdoor grow.

BTW...I also check the doors more than once at night.

It started as my idea, but now it's a joint venture. We both pretty much equally tend to the grow. I like to think that I have a little more say then he does though.

no that wasn't the problem it was she was lazy she thought all she'd have to do is put the seed in a pot and come back a couple months later and bam theres a nice big plant full of buds

me too Mogie!!! I didn't realize that this hobby could quickly turn into a job, but I did know going into it that it was going to be work. Our first female is 6 weeks into flower, about 90% cloudy 10% between yellow and amber. I so cannot wait to cut her down.

Cool

Well, he he, I was a bad bad Girl. I do not know what I was thinking. I tricked him into putting up dry wall and hanging a door. Then I finished the rest. He thought he was helping me finish under the stairs for a room to hide x-gifts. Bad hu. Once I began to grow I told him they were tomatoe plants. Ding Dong me. He is not as nieve as I thought. I came clean and he is so cool about it, He asks how they are. Last night he said we need to put a lock on the door. I told him there already was. We will be having our family over very soon and he was concerned some one may find it. We've been married 17 yrs and he has always been my partner in crime.

Okay, my time to chime in I guess. I'm relatively new to the forum, though I've been growing for several years. My first two years were with outside plants, as I had the space and privacy.
<I didn't have a clue you could do this indoors also> Living in TX, there are always several grades available, mostly up from the border -- at the time, I had some nice golden buds, and planted seeds from that bag. It was just blind luck I'm sure, as I only used lawn fertilizers, and watered with a garden hose.
Didn't know a thing about male plants, so of course I had a ton of seeds <still have a bunch of them> though the final harvest was very rewarding. I did it: and was I ever proud of myself.
I did realize though, that I sure didn't know enough about this plant. After reading several 'High Times', I bought Jorge's book, and well, from then on I was on a roll. I still grow out of doors, and enjoy the huge yields they produce, but just love growing under lights. I currently have two grow spaces in my garden shed, though only use them full-time during cooler months. <Oct thru May>
This is a wonderful forum, and hope to continue to learn, and share my experiences where I can...B

Hey Brussels! Thanks for resurrecting this thread. I just read through it and realized I had never contributed to it.

Well, we have been growing outside for a few years but it was last fall I started reading about it and realized how very badly I had been treating my plants! I am telling you, it was like taking a college course all the reading I did in the last 9 months! I had coasted around different boards and even ordered my seeds, which was a big investment then as I was soooo excited I spent about 500 bucks on seeds before knowing how to grow them! I have always gardened, and been organic so this seemed a natural segueay for me. My man and I scoutted out a place to build a grow room and of course we had the cold room. It is perfect but it took some work to get it up and functional as far as electricity and exhaust etc. My sweetie did all that with my help. So I grew in the closet for a few months as we worked on the room. It is so much fun setting things up and by the time we had the space ready I had so many flouros and cfl contraptions as well as an MH 400w light. Now I know I want an air cooled sunmaster hood, digital, switchable ballast 600w mh/hps light. But my babies like the one I have now. Others want diamonds, I just want a light! LOL!

My sweetie and I have an agreement: He takes care of all the hard things, engines, buildings, dirt moving, carpentry, and the private stuff! and I take care of all the soft things, food, pets, kids, laundry, plants and you know what! LOL! At least this way we know who's department it is !!

And Brussels, we are very glad you are here as well.

Peace

pretty much the same here, he is the grower and lets me act like the supervisor. I too would like my own but space to expand the hobby is a terrible thing here and to keep it hidden would be next to impossible. so for now I let him grow it and just give him my 2 cents constanlty lol he LOVES that.

get her to a female doctor. describe all the symptoms she is having including the ones you listed here. It sounds like she is in trouble and needs your help. Have them test for everything that could be causing the symptoms including FIBROMYALGIA. Maybe she is just lazy, but you just described my fibro symptoms and there is nothing in the world less fair than for me to be judged as lazy because of them.

I could be wrong, but it might be worth a try.

If she has ENOUGH meds over a period of time, her symptoms will probably get dramatically better. Pot helps with motivation and depression. If you love her, you just might need to accept being her caregiver.
