that's one of those grey areas... Some people are ok with it and some people are really against pregnant women toking. possible that she could have slept in a strange position too.
Looks like you are in for some backrubs in your future.. |

Cannabis does not affect the fetus in a negative way....it is good for morning sickness. I will find a post on this and get back to you. I know pot is better than many over the counter meds for pregnant women.

I use to take a nice hot bath when I got those lower back aches. The warmth helps very quickly.

Richard, have you read the post I put the link up for? Please do and then try and understand what we are talking about is not recreational smoking. It is medical. It has to do with being well enough to have your baby healthy and being in good health yourself, not about partieing and getting high at all.
Peace

While I believe Cannabis is a harmless substance. I wouldn't recommend smoking anything while a woman is pregnant. Smoking when pregnant restricts oxygen to the fetus...Which in my opinion cant be good. But again this just my 2 cents...I would think edibles would be ok...but really dont know.

Yes, as stated in the above link I posted, edibles are better for the pregnant woman who NEEDS it. Not to be confused with the person that WANTS it....two different things here.

Peace | Well, I'm not involved in any of this, just offered my two cents.
The link you provided, while interesting is a far cry from "6 weeks pregnant and woke up with acute back pain".
I'll butt out of this conversation as my opinion doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
I just think it's wrong to impose upon the fetus.

I'd go with the warm bath or heating pad. Keep everything out of the mothers system that isn't necessary.

May as well throw in my 2 cents worth, too. Lower oxygen levels are the main problem. Get her to take deep breaths between hits. Better yet, get her a vaporizer!
Way back during the Cold War era clear back into WWII, my dad was on submarines. During the 60/70s the Navy insisted that ALL submariners take vitamin E. They claimed it made the sailors more efficient under low oxygen situations. To put it at its simplest, the vitamin E protected their brains. My dad was so convinced that he took it for the rest of his life and insisted that I take it too when he learned I was pregnant. He even bought me a HUGE bottle of natural vitamin E.
So I took vitamin E throughout both of my pregnancies. It is also supposed to keep your skin "stretchier", which is important when giving birth- my kids came in at 8.75 and 9.25 pounds and no episiotomy (or tearing) with either!
If any of you are interested in further reading on the subject, click a link in my sig. There are several studies on prenatal exposure/pregnancy/neonatal outcomes in my list. While you are there, read up on vaporizers, too!
Congrats!
