Rep Power: 13 | | Help A Brotha Out , It's that time of the month again 4 my GF, and I finally was able to convince her that Cannabis helps (she's a recreational smoker; I'm Med.) with some of the pain, depression, anger , etc. I rolled up some Hindu Kush Skunk, Purple Erkle and some other Indicas together to try to help her deal w/ the cramping, pain, headache , and so on. She said it's the best medicine she's ever used. "**** a Pill." Actual quote... So ladies, based on your own, or others' experience, what strains have you found to work best at relieving symptoms of PMS/PMDD? Common Stoner Sense tells me indicas or hybrids; I've heard "Kali Mist" mentioned specifically. Any strain suggestions would be VERY APPRECIATED.
Thank You

Rep Power: 216 | | I see the men were the first ones to thank jfromthabay for this topic..lol for me in the day, I smoked to relieve the mental tensions of all the different mood swings or just an over emotional wreck!! We didn't have all the different strains for this or that back then or we just didn't know as much about it like we do now. But I knew it worked, Great question. Here are a couple of links that I think will help Little List- Medical Strains

A very interesting question indeed! I don't know enough about the various strains, either, and am past the age of experimention in that department. This should be researched!

Wow! What a list!! I've bookmarked that page for reference. I do know, firsthand about some of the effects on migraine, for instance, and asthma. Also, a friend of mine's autistic son is world's better with it!
Perhaps jfromthabay can find answers in that very extensive post as well. Thanks for finding that!

This should be researched! | There's a lot of anectdotal research and the scientific studies that have been done is either "hushed" or not well-known/accepted; mostly because the Feds won't allow anyone to do scientific research (not associated w/ them) b/c they continue to keep Cannabis listed as a Schedule 1 drug. That is the first thing that must change, for anything else to change.

thx again 4 the list, Deb. I had Granny's, which is very, very extensive. I was looking for a short, but sweet version (Little List). So no one else has any input on the subject? I was hoping to hear what works, moreso from actual people.

Perhaps jfromthabay can find answers in that very extensive post as well. Thanks for finding that! | Answers for what, exactly? I'd be to help. I can tell you from personal experience that Cannabis definitely helps w/ asthma and migraines, as you mentioned. I used to have asthma, and always needed to carry my inhalers around incase of an attack. When I would play sports, I would often have to take a time-out while playing to use my inhaler b/c I would have trouble breathing (usually woresened by outdoor allergies.) Now, I don't have to worry about using my lungs since I'm always on the couch because I'm too lazy to do anything. (A little D.A.R.E. humor). But seriously, in the past couple of years that I've been using Cannabis medicinally, I haven't had to use an inhaler even once.
If I'm ever short of breath, I just take a hit of green and I'm fine. Sativas seem to be easier on my respiratory system, as well as keeping me energetic. So, if an asthma attack occurs, I grab a Sativa and puff away. Besides, inhalers make me dizzy and twitchy/tremors; Also, works great for hiccups; However, I'd go for an Indica in that situation... supresses/stops the spasms of your diaphragm a.k.a. Hiccups. I won't go into migraines, since it's more obvious than the asthma thing, and you already know it works for sure. "After exercise induced bronchospasm, [exercise-induced asthma] placebo, marijuana, and saline were followed by gradual recovery during 30 to 60 min, whereas 2.0 per cent marijuana...caused an immediate reversal of exercise-induced asthma and hyperinflation." - Donald P. Tashkin, M.D. (American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine 1975 Granny's list has waaayyy more scientific evidence to back it all up, so check it out and spread the word! | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to jfromthabay For This Useful Post:

Rep Power: 0 | | I have first hand experience, as well as being a caretaker for a couple other ladies.. and the best I've found so far is the White Russian, which is primarily an Indica I believe. I havn't read too much about it on this site, which I find interesting?? I believe she won the C>C ten years ago, so maybe she's been pushed along to the side with all these new strains.. the THC is around 22%, and from side-by-side comparisons, I know this is most likely true..Anyway, there is NO DOUBT that our lovely flowering ladies have wonderfully miraculous medicinal properties for women who suffer from PMS, and cramps.. | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to rosietheriveter For This Useful Post:

Depending on how much indy you get from the WW mixing with AK (Both I know are mainly sativas) will result in the amount 60/40;50/50 etc. I dont believe it just matters only on lineage, but also the overall result from the grower. Phenotypes, batches, all vary from slightly to indecipherable. Im gonna start compiling all the strains Ive encountered and ill get back to this thread with my list
