Rep Power: 500 | | What are some of the best rolling papers?
Did some research on rolling papers and is seems all agree we want very thin hemp or rice paper with a natural gum...evidence of excellence is a slow burn, no added taste, and fine grey ash rather than dark heavy ash...
I have always used EZ widers when not vapping but now I want to upgrade my papers to match the quality of the MJ I grew (thanks again for the help GP)...any paper snobs have recomendations? |

I use hemp papers both king size and 1 1/4 depending on the occasion. The brand is "smoking" pure hemp papers. I just started a trend of smoking hemp papers instead of cigarillos in my group of friends everyone loves them great taste all the way through the smoke and burn just as long if not longer than a cigar paper. Much cheaper also. The same company also makes rice papers which i was very pleased with also. A link to see what the package looks like can be found here>>> http://www.smoke-nut.com/foto/small/...ing-papers.jpg | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to re12377 For This Useful Post: | |

I usually just rip off a piece of brown paper grocery bag, and roll it up with that. It doesn't have any gum, but if you make it big enough, you can just hold it together by holding it in your fist. The taste is somewhat harsh, but with the commercial crap around here, it actually tastes better. Just kidding. I am no paper snob. I use whatever is convenient. Usually, plain old zigzag's. $1.78 for 32 leaves. Geez!! I remember $.10 a pack. And, if you bought a can of Prince Albert or Velvet, they threw in a pack of ungummed Rizla's. Now, that was interesting for a 13 year old kid, trying to roll a cigarette, with ungummed papers.

I've been using chills products for about a decade now.Pure hemp paper with natural glue. they also have a smokers kit for 19.99 which contains a smokers box, smoking stem(bat),poker.and 2 packs of papers(smokers box is similar to a dugout)
When you buy a dugout it doesn't have a poker or papers, and costs about 25.00
I just found the sight and they are not listing the smokers kit anylonger,I have
e-mailed them to see if it was left out on accident.

if it comes to paper hemp is my way to go as it takes the shortest process to be turned into fine paper (therefor low impureness by chemical residues) and burns evenly.
but telling by the taste is cellophane the way to go actually, smoking joints rolled from this stuff is like smoking a clean glass pipe
from the size i move between regulars to king sized ones, on the cellophane i found that you can buy bags made from this for candy and fine chocolate and a pack of 100 can go for as little as 1 or 2 bucks and is good for 200-800 papers depending on how big you cut em.
on filter tips i moved away from traditional paper or cardboard tips to those "mineral wool" kind tips for self rolled ones - all the green gets smoked now, less ash and dust that fills my lungs, and the taste is great with em.

never thought of being a snob but like trying new papers.some of them are lovely my favourite so far: RAW King Size Supreme from RollingSupreme ( www.rollingsupreme.com); Skunk Brand ( skunkbrand.com) and Smoking King Size slim/blue and everything else.but no flavours please...got lovely hemp paper with beautiful MJ leafs imprinted and but was flavoured and smelled of cheap perfume.no way to smoke it.it never smells of what says on the cover.chocolate cookie...once i got a bar of hash that when smoked tasted like a chocolate...fantasy...but later I tried to recreate the same experience with choco papers and it was disaster nowhere near chocolate.so no flavours.

Sorry - the snob was meant in jest...I guess snob was the quick way to say more knowledge and appreciation of good papers than me.

Rep Power: 500 | | Evaluating rolling papers
In an ideal world this is what I would like to do w/ the 10 brands I am trying out and those mentioned in the post as well as several well known commercial brands.
I will cut equal sized samples of each paper/cellulose say about 5x5 cm
I will weigh each paper before burning..and weight the ashes after a visual inspection
I will collect the smoke form each sample in a gas chromatograph to determine exactly what is given off as each paper burns
I will also burn samples of equal sized to do a double blind on the tast and smell of the different brands
I guess I also need to do some sort of smoke sample collection to determine the amount and size of particulate matter produced in the smoke
this assumes all the papers/cellulose are adequate for rolling w/o tearing
with this data I could determine what papers are healthiest and most pleasant for use
Does anyone know where I can get a research grant for this craziness?
I will also

everything was better than the generic zig zags at the store except king randy's wired hemp paper (makes its own roach clip) and the clear cellulose but if I had to pick favorites it would be smokeking, rizla +, and OCB...still waiting on the grant for quantitative/qualitative analysis
still nothing came close to a good vaporizer for keeping the lungs feeling good!

They come in more than one size and what I love is that they have no taste AT ALL! they are the naturalist thing to cannabis.
