Default Lumatek 1000 watt 240 volt

I just bought one from ebay for 281.00 shipped which is dirt cheap compared to the prices in the 3 hydro stores in my state. Yes, 3 stores in the whole state and boy do they take advantage of that with their high prices.

I fired it up just for a test and it is bright as hell and makes 0 noise. I hope it last a while.

That will boost you grow. I need to get 1 more 1000 set up to finish my flower room. I remember the first time I fired up my first 1000. I was used to 400. Man I was blown away.

Ask your local stores if they will match or come close to the price you are getting on line. My local store would rather match and not make as much than not make a dime.

Default Just bought my second one

Yet another great ebay deal, 230.00 bucks shipped for a new 1000 Watt-240 volt lumatek. I can see a difference in the initial fire up but I'm not sure if its different from the magnetic ballast after 15 minutes or so. I like the fact, its light in weight and makes 0 sound. They do get much hotter to the touch though, now my new issue is spider mites. Im not sure how they made it into my garden but im going to try Doktor Doom fogger and knock out spray. Wish me luck...

240 volt ~ did you need to convert the light so it works on an American power grid ?

heya richard

Most folks have 240 in their homes...the dryer outlet is probably the most widely available 240 source out there. Quite a few BIG grows use 240v ballasts, FWIW.

There are "smart" ballasts out there that can detect the v coming in and switch to adjust...and at some point these tings will be plug and play all around...detecting the waatage of the lamp/power/and hps or mh and firing whatever light is screwed in the socket with the proper juice.

the future looks bright.....
