I got this letter for a retailer, sounds like just what I need

Quote:
Hi,

It'll work just fine with only the Gavita HPS bulb through both veg and flowering. What you'll experience is slightly more internodal stretching if you use only the HPS light for both veg and flowering, but even if you did get a MH bulb for the fixture for your veg you wouldn't increase your yield at all. There is no such thing as a 600 watt MH fixture, so they make conversion bulbs to make all 600 watt HPS fixtures into MH when necessary. The 600 watt conversion bulb we sell is a great bulb, and like I said- it'll give you more compact vegetative growth. We use them in our greenhouse here in the retail store. If you've got height restrictions, then maybe it's worth it to use the conversion bulb for your vegetative growth period to keep your plants more compact. You can check out the 600 watt MH conversion bulb here on our site: http://4hydroponics.com/lighting/sunmaster600conv.asp The only good reasons to use the MH bulb for your vegetative growth would be to make a shorter, more compact plant. By causing the plant to develop this way, it will support it's weight better down the road. But again- it's not going to increase your yield at all.

LAMP BASE INSTRUCTIONS
Remove the bulb from the package. Carefully insert the bulb into the socket and turn clockwise. (Hold the bulb at the neck above the threads when doing this.) Only tighten the bulb so that it is a snug fit. Over tightening may damage bulb. Once snug, adjust the lamp counter clockwise until horizontal. (Hold bulb at neck when doing this.)
