With Spring on it's way, I've been dreaming of making ready my fishing boat and venturing out on the water.
Being cooped up inside during this harsh cold white winter, I've spent my time browsing the Internet.
One of the sites I like is Wooden Boat Finder
As many of you might know, I also am an advocate of utilization of non-psychoactive Hemp for the plethora of products that can be made from this one miraculous plant.
From Bio-degradable Plastics, Lubricants, Food, Fiber, Hemcrete, etc.
This got me thinking, is it possible to build a boat made entirely from Hemp ? If you an make plastic from the oil, you can make a boat.
The peanut is another remarkable plant. George Washington Carver had a great deal to do with research on the peanut. It's amazing how many uses the lowly peanut has - plastics is a big one. That's what made me think of it.

It is unfortunate that America is being left out of this lucrative market. Countries that Grow Agricultural Hemp "Over 25,000 products can be manufactured from hemp, from cellophane to dynamite."
Popular Mechanics, 1938 The Michigan Industrial Hemp Education and Marketing Project HEMP PLYWOOD Becomes a Reality HEMP BUILDING MATERIALS HEMP is the longest, strongest, most durable fiber that grows on the planet Five Cannabis Concept Restaurants: Today's Coolest Dining Experience Welcome to Hemp Traders, the world’s largest supplier of hemp products The nutritional composition of a hemp seed is exceptional!
Whole hemp seeds contain approximately 25% protein, 31% fat (in the form of a nutritious oil), and 34% carbohydrates, in addition to an interesting array of vitamins and minerals. Hemp Seed Protein
Hemp seeds are second only to soybean in protein content. Proteins serve a variety of functions in the human body such as acting as enzymes, antibodies, and the structural components of tissues, hormones and blood protein. The main function of dietary protein is to supply amino acids for the growth and maintenance of body tissue. Digestion disassembles proteins into their basic building blocks - the amino acids.
Hemp protein contains all 20 known amino acids including the 9 essential amino acids (EAAs) our bodies cannot produce. Proteins are considered complete when they contain all 9 essential amino acids in a sufficient quantity and ratio to meet the body's needs. Hemp seeds contain an adequate supply of these high quality proteins (EAAs) for a well balanced diet.
Hemp protein is free of the tryspin inhibitors which block protein absorption and free of oligosaccharides found in soy, which cause stomach upset and gas.
Approximately 65% of the protein in hemp seeds is made up of the globulin protein Edestin and is found only in hemp seed. Edestin aids digestion, is relatively phosphorus-free and considered the backbone of the cell's DNA. The other one third of hemp seed protein is Albumin, another high quality globulin protein similar to that found in egg whites.
I hope this will dispel the notion that non-psychoactive Hemp is only good for burlap bags and yarn.

Industry is completely aware of all that.
Example:
The Rockefellers owned most of the timber interest in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Timber makes paper - at great expense and hassle. Hemp makes MUCH better paper, at much lower costs, using far less land and resources.
There are lots of reasons hemp and cannabis are illegal - all of them are economic reasons and all of them are for the exclusive benefit of particular well-known individuals.
There is a world government. We call our rulers "corporations".
If you ever get a chance, you gotta see this flick: The Corporation Film: Welcome
It's very, very well-produced, extremely thought-provoking and it will PISS YOU OFF!

I find Michael's comments about a world government run by corporations very interesting....first because in many ways it seems to be true...but also because if it is true...it leaves government as the only institution strong enough to potentially confront corporate interests. But how do you separate the corporate money from politics?
Funny thing a corporation...acts like an individual free to pursue its interests...has the rights to do that..but none of the liability and responsibility assumed to individuals...I can do stuff but if I mess up I pay a cost...a multinational corporation messes up and the corporation may pay a price...but the people that benifit and made illegal or destructive choices within the company are buffered and protected from the law...something about that stinks
Corporations and private property - difficult stuff for me to wrap my head around
But I think Richard has at least one solution...support bussinesses that do hemp bussiness!
