My Friend Died

I just got the news that an old friend died, and thought this
would be a healthy exspression.

My friend GuyTono was a artist, he was a poet, a philosopher, a musician and mime.

He recorded a few albums with the NY band Hard Attack,
(I wish I had a track to post) but is probably best known as "the tattoo'd mime on bourbon st."

GuyTono like so many before him in this town died,
from a heroin overdose. he was 45 years old.

Tonite we will Jazz funeral, as is the custom.

I decided to forgo the celebration,
Instead I will gather with a few friends and busk his corner, (play music) on bourbon st in tribute.



New Orleans & the needle took my bro Shannon too.
Shannon Od'd in the Quarter not long after this was
filmed.

I too lost a good friend this month. Seems the old saying is true the good die young.

I suggest we all toke up for those lost to us. May our prayers rise up and tickle the toes of those we love and lost just like the smoke from our bongs.

I lost a very close friend to a drunk driver. He was 35 years old. I never go to his grave and mourn. I know he would want to be remembered for the joy of his life and not the pain of his death.

Very good point. I think most people would feel that way. I know my mother always said that if someone wanted to bring flowers to her grave she would rather get them while she was alive so she could enjoy them.
