When Billboard broke the news this morning that Queen and Paul Rodgers would be going their separate ways, it was hard not to think, "Well, what's next?" Or rather, "Who's next?" The late Freddie Mercury's frontman role is ridiculously tough to fill. Might we suggest Adam Lambert? OK, so the guy will probably be pretty busy in the next few days/months/years (hey, we're not the only ones who think so), but the American Idol front-runner has the musical chops and stage presence vital to preserving Queen's signature sound. Can you even imagine what he could do with 'Somebody to Love' or 'Another One Bites the Dust' in concert? What do you think, Music Mixers? Could Adam Lambert do Freddie Mercury justice? Is there somebody else who could do a better job? Or should the band just call it a day?

comparing the two leaves a bad taste on my tongue. Freddy mercury was an original music genius. Adam Lamberts a kid who can belt out notes and get dressed up like a clown for who knows what reason other than the attention.
Dresses like a clown....okay then I want a clown like that.
He has a little Elvis going on (even has the snarl with his lips at times). Freddy was an amazing artist but Adam Lambert has a high registery that Freddy just didn't have.
And an example of his musical genius is obvious in what he did with Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire.

my friends and I went to NYC to see Queen at the garden circa 1980 all in our late teens.....being a bunch of drug crazed kids we thought it would be a good idea to buy some Acid a the concert because it was not readily availble in our home state....buddy buys about 100 hits...and drops them on the floor....he start picking them up in the crowed hall....security comes over and grabs my buddy...they disapear for half the concert...my buddy re-appears later...scared and freaked but not under-arrest!
ended up being a wonderful concert but what a scare we all had....I think it was one of the events that caused me to start thinking about finally growing up.
I had no idea Queen had reconstituted! nice to check out the new sounds
