Great vid gangababy,

It looks like leds would be pretty good for veg, but get blown away during flower. He didn't say what the leds put out for lumens or watts. Or did I miss something?

i think it has alot to do with the strain just as some plants do better outdoors theres strains that do better under hid lighting
check-out the size of there lowryder cross plants in this link hope its not against the rules Marijuana Growing - LR2 LED/CF grow set up guide - LED building instructions

the thing about true outdoor strains is that they are more resisted to mold and such thinks and not that you can't grow em indoors.

besides, with that 400W he could have grown 4 plants more at least so his yield would have to be tripled for the calculation - sure, for single plant growers this is nice, but this yield per Watt you get also with a CFL.

A top notch LED yields about 80-100 lumen per Watt, and so do high end CFLs too - for a fraction of the cost of one LED kid.

that must not real do better outdoors - they just more likely to stand the environmental influences of outdoor growing better - in a good year with dry flowering time you can grow bigbud excellent outsides despite been a indoor strain which buds can catch mold faster then you can blink in a bad year.
Outdoor strains stand out to me with such attributes as that they outgrow easily surrounding vegetation - which is always a safety concern again with those strains, and that they can stand the dutch summer well - ever been there in summer time? can be beautiful and all of a sudden rain, rain and some more rain. and a rainy week in amsterdam can cost you that way more then a little for weed, food and a place to crash for a few hours - but that way i lose an umbrella in ever coffee shop you toke!

it looks like if you jammed 400 watts of leds in there it would probably do something similar to the hids but it would cost 4 times more than hids to get the same turn out unless of course u built led boards a single led cost like 30cents

Does anyone have any good tech specs on the HID Hut UFO? In particular, I'd like to know what kind of LEDs they are using... usually a handful of the 1w runs for only ~$40. Not to mention that so few would have a relatively low coverage area as far as light output. Just doesn't seem like enough hardware/performance for the $600 they are asking.
