that is awesome. After watching all three videos i'm just wondering , as the novice I am, how difficult it would be to accurately feed your girls with that "wicking" system.

I use different guano's and worm castings which I scratch into the top layer of the soil and not that much concerned about TDS/EC levels of nutes. But you could probably make up your batch of nutes and then use a turkey baster to apply the solution to the top of the soil.

When he is finished building the unit, he totally saturates the soil with water, which keeps moist as long as there is water in the reservoir, that moisture is probably enough for the roots to uptake the good stuff in the bat and worm poop and then poop it back out for the mycorrhizae to eat. If not, then a little top dressing of water wouldn't hurt.

I need a drain plug and also some kind of ability to measure the amount of water in the reservoir.

interesting design he has there. I'll be remembering it when I get my garden started. probably not just like his but he does have some good basics going on there.

grandpa, as far as a drain and water level gage goes... I can handle that with one adition of clear tubeing siliconed into the bottom and cliped on up higher. it would show water level and provide a drain in order to change water, move out of rotation after harvest or, what ever else may arise in the future.
