Hello my name is Arjan and I am the founder of the Green House Coffeeshops and Seed Company.

In 1985 at the age of 20 I met an old medicine man in Thailand. At this point I'd already spent ten years of my life in Africa and five years in Asia. The old medicine man had a dream: he dreamt of a free cannabis plant. He explained and taught me the religion of this plant. But he also explained he would never win the battle with just money. Passion and love were the only options.

No one ever died because of the cannabis plant, but the power of alcohol, tobacco and the pharmaceutical industry prevent this plant from being used and accepted.

The medicine man was right. He eventually died, but the day I met him he changed my life. I wanted to bring his dream closer to reality.

I returned to Holland and got to work. Due to the Dutch Law I can't disclose what I did for the next few years up until 1992 but I expect you can guess. All our passion and knowledge encouraged us to open our first coffeeshop, the Green House, in 1992. We had a different approach from all other existing coffeeshops. Instead of the old, dark and stuffy interiors, the first Green House in the Tolstraat in Amsterdam was a big open space with artistic decoration created entirely by us. We created the first artistic cafe-coffeeshop in Holland. We invited the Amsterdam police and the city mayor to the opening and Green House was an instant hit. The judges from the High Times Cannabis Cup dropped by in 1993 and we won several prizes - for best atmosphere. The Green House name was established as the number one Coffeeshop in the world.

Celebrities from all over the world started visiting us and became friends. Take a look at our 'Hall of Fame', you'll be surprised by all the famous names that have spent time here, enjoying the same atmosphere as you and me. We grew rapidly and won prizes every year at the High Times Cannabis Cup, many of which for the best atmosphere. In 1993 we expanded, opening our second cafe-coffeeshop on the Waterlooplein, a busy central square in Amsterdam.

Again, we developed and made the whole of the interior and decoration ourselves - the bar with its sunken mosaic stones lit from beneath, handmade lamps and one-off paintings - all completely unique to the Green House.

i am a pathological liar, and have illusions of grandeur. I post pictures of pot plants i found on the internet and i have never nor will i ever consider the cultivation of marijuana, as it is illegal.

OK in a number of videos by green house seeds they say they use a ph of 5.5 to 5.7 and they use soil. Everything I read says about 6.3 to 6.9 for soil.

I'm wondering if I should do the same with my plants as they are the breeder.

On a brighter note, I can't WAIT to visit Amsterdam. I was there about 20 years ago when I was in college and the wife and I are thinking of visiting next year for our anniversary. You better believe I'll either be mailing some goodies home or bringing a little something back with me.

holy, just checked with greenhouse seeds - they only got fem seeds, so you will not to likely to grow own seeds - and they ask for about $100 for ten seeds... that is little much for me to go without growing some seeds. but thats just me...

Good catch Knotty! I heard the same thing, and it made me back the tape up and hear it again...

It seemed he stayed in the 6's range till the first couple weeks of flower and dropped into the 5's, then changed it back to 6.1.

I've always heard that plants can uptake nute's better with the Ph on the low end of the scale, and that is where I try to keep mine for both hydro and soil....seems to work Ok.

they have regular packs, but unfortunately they do not ship the the USA, so us US growers are SOL.

You can still get there seeds..there are seed banks that sell there seeds and ship to the US. Thats how I got them.

Right on there site they State they will not ship to the USA.I would not want to get them through another seed bank,they may not sent you greenhouse seeds and sent you there's instead.How would you know if they are green house seeds or the seed banks seeds.I wish they would sent to the usa. PEACE

I'm just going by what I ordered and the package they came in. I could get ripped off but as of right now Im happy..Bought FEM seeds and have nothing but females..so far so good..lol
