Fred Thompson just lost my vote.

He said he is aware of the issue, but refused to take any position at that time when the gent asked the question (on the video).

Aside from my conservatiive views, looks like I'll be voting Democrat in that election, but I need to learn more about Ron Paul and what the other Repubs running think. If the individual running is not willing to call off the Federal "dogs" and stand up and say so, then my vote will go to someone with the Juevo's (or whatever Hillary has..LOL) to stand up and speak up for sick people in this country.

Obama had Oprah Winfrey give a speech for him today at a convention...and that gal carries A LOT of weight with many Americans.

Obama is pro-medical, but not pro-legalization. He will stop the raids and harassment of sick people...that's a good start should he win. He is also for national health care...something I DO NOT want. Most Canadians get decent basic care under their plan, but let something serious happen where you need to be in the hospital, and it gets much more challenging for them, and many, many folks that afford it (or the Canadian Gov't pays) will come to the US for serious surgeries, etc. Our regional hospitals have many Canadian patients that the Canadian hospitals had no room for.

I don't see Ron Paul even showing up in the polls...hope taht isn't a sign of reality...likely is, but there are 11 months to the election yet!

Yeah, I think GN hit the nail on the head. Canidates will say what they think the majority of people around at that moment want to hear, just to get another vote. When it comes to doing as they say, they show themselves for the liars that all politicians are known to be. I don't trust any of them as far as I could throw a whale, leave alone run the country. Unfortunately it is what it is...

what i really ask myself about Ron Paul is if he will have the power as president to do those things, like shutting down DEA and IRS - isn't that something the congress will have to do normally?!

Ron paul can ask for TV time and demand that congress act. The bully pulpet works, look at bush. Plus with that, president paul makes it known where he stands and then people who will see what he wants and supports what he wants will badger their reps and senators to get it done. If they dont get it done, vote em out.
