I'm sure many of you will know what I am about to describe.
What ever happened to the incredible Colombian Gold and Red Bud that was around in the late 70's?
The gold was the color of dry straw. with a rich earthy smell, and for the time it was very powerful, only topped by the spicy Thai sticks you use to be able to get back then. I remember thinking for $50 an ounce it better be good! Ah, those were the days.
I guess my real question is, why don't we see that anymore?
I know the market has many more potent strains available today, but that's kind of a lame excuse.
Just curious,
Pullo

Alot of us have been wondering the same exact thing Preserving the Strains of Yesteryear
some have tried a seed bank that crosses some of these old strains with White Widow.
Ileso and a few others have had the oportunity to travel and collect some old school genetics and work with them.
others have also conversed about this on these threads Old School Strains? Strains of Yesteryear by DJ Short
hope you don't feel I am trying to hijack your thread....just trying to make these interesting topics located to as few threads as possible.
But don't let me stop you buddy...new threads lead to new conversations!

Thanks Scott, for posting those links.
It's like taking a trip down amnesia lane.
I have some BB Cheese that's just finishing its 4th week in flower and the smell is incredible. Sweet, Citrus, skunky/musk Mmmmmmmmmmm.
I can't wait.

I remember one birthday a friend of mine came over and gave me a "Birthday" joint, and made me smoke it but I only got half way through. I fell asleep and missed the whole day and was I ever mad! It was killer and I was never a light wieght when it came to smoke. Never had that again. It was from a friend just back from an island. I can't remember, but wicked.

I have some Colombian Red crossed with Bubba Chunk (Bubba Kush x Big Chunk).
Everything got mixed up, though. So, I have no idea what's what. But, if it's really half lumbo red, I'll know.
