Default Vaporizor Advice Needed

Hi friends, I am moving into a gov't subsidized housing building for the disabled in 3 weeks. Sooo...in Iowa where I live marijuana is as addictive as heroin, according to our elected officials. My experience, however, proves the exact opposite, and I did china white in NYC for a year and a half back in the 80's. Point being, I need a good, yet inexpensive (under $100 USD if possible) Vaporizor. For obvious reasons, but more so in that my son tells me you get alot higher off alot less nug, and that it even makes schwag better. I WANT ONE!!! Is this a case where "Less Is More?" Seriously I use it to control my chronic nausea and vomiting so let me know of your experience. So if anyone knows of a good Vaporizor (yet inexpensive, but not cheap.) I need to make my supply last longer, yeah I know put down the pipe, but when you surf waves of nausea from mild to severe every hour of everyday you take 3-4 hits every couple hours... Anyway, I need it to last longer, work more efficently and eliminate odors. The health issue is not a concern for me. I've smoked marijuana for over 30 years with a 10 year break and still have a bigger and better lung capacity than most folks. Might have something to do with playing the trumpet for 30 years, Duh, ya think? Please let me know of any good Vaporizor that works good and is as inexpensive as can be, below $100 USD if possible. Plus it needs to be 60 cycle not 50 cycle electrically speaking, obviously. That's the trouble with a couple sites I checked out, there made for Euro electric not American. Thanks in advance for any advice. If you think there is an excellent one that is just a little over $100 USD I might be able to make it work otherwise I would rather pay from $50-$80 USD. Tanks again ...Peace

if you want one for less then 100 bucks i would check ebay for a bit, maybe you get lucky and get there a good used one for little money. a new vapir one as i have one goes for 150 bucks already, so more then you got in you budget... but if you buy a older 4.0 you could get em for less

Default Vaporizor Advice

I could do the $150 but that would be less $ for product that month. But if the Vapir really stretches my weed dollar it would pay for itself, thanks for the ebay suggestion I never would have thought of that. Do you agree that by vaping instead of smoking increases the THC getting from the plant into the user? i.e. do you think it really does stretch my weed dollar, I have to be a cautious consumer as well as user. Thanks for the link green_nobody. Peace... . .

The only vaps that I have found people consistantly like

are Volcano - hard to find for less than 500 even on ebay

Hebal Aire - 200 new can't find any old yet

the Vapir GN recommended for 150 new

I think if you go for anything other than these you risk spending money on something you won't be happy with

on ebay there are 24 vapirs right now 2 used on bid

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...apir&category0=
the cheapest new ones are 125 w/ free shipping so....if you really want one kick in the extra 25 and know you are getting a decent vap instead of crap

Default Vapir Advice

Thanks scott06, They have the Vapir 5.0 for $149 or the Vapir 4.0 for $75 plus $14 shipping on ebay right now. So I'm checking my funds. I can't see paying twice the $$ unless you now there is a $75 value in buying the 5. over the 4. Is there that big of difference between the two? If I add shipping the 4. would total $89, so is the extra $50 worth going for the 5.? Thanks buddy...

Default Vapir Advice

Yeah scott06, the prices I found were $25 more i.e. $149 for the Vapir 5. $75 for the 4. and $50 for the 3. Is there that big of a difference between the three versions of the same vaporizor?

I honestly don't know the difference between the vapir versions - I use the herbalaire

perhaps you could find out and let us know

I know a few folks use the vapir on this site perhaps they can weigh in

Default i'm in the market myself...

and i'm in the same boat, financially speaking.
which means i'm with scott all the way in that, i don't want to buy crap, for cheap, and just have to replace it. that'd cost more than just throwin' down and buying a good one the first time.

in my research i've heard many good things about the 'hotbox', a whip style rather than a bag style like the volcano and also in the $150.00USD range. i haven't researched the Herbalaire, yet (lol, thanks scott, something else to do)

you can also DIY, either with a light bulb/lighter combo or using a heat gun, although all that'll do for ya is sell you on vaping, you won't want to do either long term, it's just too inconvient, too hard to apply the correct temps and so you either waste canabinoids or you end up with combustion inside the bulb.

in my research i have learned that vaporization is definately the way to get most of your canabinoids. for one thing, you can actually tweak your buzz as different canabinoids vaporize at slightly different temps than others, it's also way more efficient as a delivery system.
when you burn weed, a sizable percentage of the canabinoids are wasted, either cooked off or blown away into the air.
plus, vaporization removes all the carcinogens created in the combustion process
and, it just taste's better too man, kinda like sweet hash

anyway, if you're on a budget as tight as mine is, you'll be reading many threads and post's before you 'throw down', lol

with that said, toke amongst yourselves

here is a repost of review - I did buy a quieter pump for about 7 bucks

herbalaire vaporizer
Product Review – The HerbaAire H2.1 Vaporizer

http://www.herbalaire.com/

I was looking for a Vap two reasons. First the smell of burnt MJ lingers for days and stinks up the house. Secondly and perhaps more importantly….repiratory health! The studies by Normal and MAPS show clearly that vaporizing delivers THC as effectively as smoking, but eliminates or drastically reduces carcinogens and other toxins that result from combustion. Google - Cannabis Vaporizer Combines Efficient Delivery of THC with Effective Suppression of Pyrolytic Compounds if you want all the science supporting this.

Next was selecting a Vap….The Volcano was an easy choice based on positive reviews…but the price was a bit out of my range. After lots of web searching it seemed that many people were equally satisfied with the HerbalAire ($250) so I ordered it at half the price of the Volcano ($500+)

I was very pleasantly surprised when the product arrived. Packed with everything you might need (except MJ) and with plenty of support material directions. I was up and vaping in no time.

Some things I really like about the unit
  • Small size easy to handle
  • Very long cord easy to move around
  • Very accurate temp control over a wide range – I like to vap at 375 F
  • Auto shutdown…..great for the oblivious stoned person
  • Balloon storage….works well.
One thing I may not like
  • The pump was kind of loud…I may go to the petshop and get something wisper quiet…the pump is also slow in filling the balloon…but I think that is a good thing.
My lungs feel much better…the house smells better…and I actually use ¼ to 2/3 as much MJ to get the same effects…actually similar effects…vaping seems a bit more cerebral and a bit less couch-locked…especially at temps lower than 365F.

Note - Vaping doesn’t entirely eliminate lung and mucus membrane irritation (even pure THC as a vapor is a lung irritant) but it does DRASTICALLY reduce it.

I am very pleased with the product and just wanted to pass that on to the helpful members at GP

Default Vaporizor Advice

One question, was the packaging discreet? If it said or showed anything other than a plain wrapper I'd have to have it sent to another address. Since the front desk of the Gov't subsidized building, who I need to keep in the dark, might get the package and hold it for me. So they can't know what is in the package. Thanks...Later...

not having bought one, i can't say how discreet the packaging was (you there scott?) but i have a kinda lame suggestion

i need a discreet place, other than here at home, to have some seeds sent to so i plan on getting myself a mail-box at one of those mailbox rental places, i figure i can get it under whatever name i plan on using to order the seeds with. and i plan on buying with a pre-paid Visa.
i figure, how much can it cost to rent a box for a few months?
whatever it costs will be worth it for security's sake

LOL, this is the only place i leave any footprints

so, bake on

plain box, why should they put anyone at risk? same thing goes for seeds as well, they never have a big sticker on labeling them as "Supa Ganja Seeds"

but that with the safe box is a good idea actually

GN is right again
packaging is descrete for vaps and seeds

getting seeds is the safest part of what u are doing - order from a reputable company and don't worry about it

also some companies will not send if the billing address is different than the adress of a credit card

Nirvana is the site sponser and has a good rep, but there are plenty of other good ones if they don't have what you want

Default i guess i'm nervous...

everything i've read says it's not a good idea to have seeds delivered to the same address as the grow.
i'm almost ready to say **** it and order in my own name and to my home

sorry for the frustration - figuring out exactly what to do and how to do it as safe as possible is hard at times

I sent cash to one site and got my seeds quickly and descretely in the US to my home

http://weedfarmer.com/buy_seeds/index_en.html

From what I understand if seeds are intercepted by customs they just send you a note saying you shouldn't do this

also a cash transaction is not traceable

but it you have an ongoing large grow then just get the other box or adress and don't sweat it

also in addition to the highly rated nirvana you can check out this well regaurded review of seedbanks

http://www.seedbankupdate.com/su.html

hope this is helpful and wait for others to chime in to get more feedback so you don't feel like you are just hearin' from one or two people

Default LOL, no worries there scott

believe me, i've been thinkin' on it fer a bit now.
also, no matter what, i will use a pre-paid Visa, as untraceable as cash but usable on-line.
i'll probably go with Nirvana, partly cause of the recommendations here, but also cause i like the way it's set-up on thier site, everything is easy to find.
as far as the address goes, it will depend how much the rental is and how long i have to rent it for.
if it's too much, they come here 'cause i don't have anything like a 'big' grow going
lol, look at my thread, just rooting cuttings lol

Default Vapirs and Seeds via mail

Thanks for all the input for advice on vapirs. I knew seeds were packaged that way but wasn't sure about the vap. Guess we have to do what our fathers did, get there porn through the mail in a plain brown wrapper I have made up my mind, quality is what I want, so I'll just wait until I can drop $250 (my monthly weed buhget) and get the Herbalaire H2.1, thanks scott06. I have read about it before and liked what it said about it. Its worth the investment for security, anonimity and more effecient use of my medicine. Peace...
