Can anyone tell me how long it takes to be approved for and recieve your patient ID card (in Cali) once you have turned in your application & doc. recommendation to the appropriate state office?

I can tell you this was my experience, I made an appointment with the recommended doctor, at that time they told me to get the appropriate medical records, I did that and went to the appointment and the same day got my certificate. The whole process took two weeks, now this was several years ago remember.

Thanks for the reply. It is my understanding that after you see the doctor (and aquire the reccomendation) you can use it to to go to a dispensary or deal with a care-giver until you recieve your ID card in a couple of weeks or so... is this correct?

Also, thank you for inviting me to view your new project!! I will be checking daily, and paying close attention. I am so very eager to learn!

No the Dr. should give you it the same day as the appointment, with the authentication stamp. Then you go straight to the club. As a secondary check the club calls the Dr.

Anyway.... AWESOME! I am SO glad to understand that better. Do you have a good reccommendation for a doc in NoCal? Also, in the "Emerald Triangle" areas, do you have a reccommendation in regards to clubs?

My husband and I are planning to move as soon as we can, and are currently trying to get it together to make a week or two trip to view locations, rental homes, the "feeling" and people in different areas etc... We desperately need to make the right decisions, as this is VERY difficult for us, and we only have one chance to get it right... I am sure.

MONTHS?!?!? That's awful. But then again, we are talking about state workers... LOL Hope it runs smoother than a trip to the DMV!
