I hate technology!!!

Gosh, I am sooooooo frustrated. I just want to relax, consume lots of beer, and a few bowls, and if anyone opens there mouth, or looks at me sideways, I am going to jump down there throat!

Ok ok, let me back track a bit, the wife and I decided to grab a high def tv, so we picked one out, it gets here, no problems.

Now we realize we need additional cables, so off to the local radio shack, and $180.00 dollars later, we have all the necessary cables. We have rca cables, S cables, hdtv Cables, you name it, they sold it to me.

After a couple hours I realize to shitcan the dvd player, as it is just complicating the wiring job. Now I get out my instructions, two complets sets from the cable company, one with the tv, and the two from the cable company, are totally different, different pictures, different hookups, everything is different!

Long story short, I've simply screwed the original (old fashioned) cable into the tv, til one of the kids comes to visit! Boy, do I have a job for them!

You know...you could have just paid an extra $50 to have it installed. Then again I have no idea where you got it from.

But I bought my 65" from Circuit City....went threough the same thing you did....$1800 later....I called them back to install the beast.

I didnt want to bother.

I actually used to work for Radioshack (bastards) and thankfully have no problem when it comes to install. Hey vid, those manuals aren't needed once you know the basics amigo, they're actually confusing as hell with all the extra stuff they put in there in small print.

Aye video sorry to hear that.

I used to work for my uncle who owns a tv and electronic repair shop.

Many times I had to go out and hook up tv's and satelites and surround sound systems.

It can be quite complicated.

Once you figure it out your like , well that certainly makes sense.

I would suggest going from the audio and video outputs from the cable box and match to colors up on the back of the cbl box with cords and then to tv.

The HD is a diff story.
You have to have a HD cable box.

Then I think they have regular audio but, they have red blue and yellow ends also.

These are the primary colors.
You still just match them up with the same color inputs and outputs.

Just keep in mind with the hd that it is the same just with a higher definition picture.

I would be happy to hook it up for you if I was there though.

I agree though as you said one of your kids would probably put together easy peasy.

It amazes me the technology that these younger kids already have expierence with at such young ages.

dude post some pics of the back of the tv and the cables and the cable box i can tell u how to hook it up,i bought the samsung 50 1080p tv and got a hd dvd player hooked up thru the hdmi cable,the other hdmi jack i have my ps3 into it,and the hi def cable thru the components jacks,so take the red,blue and green colored cables and match the colors to the back of the tv and do the same to the cable box,then unscrew the cable line from ur tv and screw it back into the cable box,turn ur tv on and swith the tv to which ever component u pluged them into,should be the same for the dvd player unless u have a hdmi hook up for that then thats a plug all of its own to watch the dvd u have to switch the tv to the hdmi settings which should the the tv/video button on ur remote,there should be a red and white jack in line with your blue red and green where you pluged ur cable to the tv thats the audio input cables plug those in then plug them into the cable box for audio out if your dvd player doesnt have the hdmi cable you do the same as you do for ur cable box

yeah I just got one and hung it on my wall and it was pretty easy to do. Just follow the colors and do what I do ,,, trial and error. If the pugins dont work one way then try another until you get the picture right. Leave the tv on so you can check it . It took me like 15 minutes. I know you can do it ................good luck

Hey v,couple a years back i worked for a cable company.Just call them up and tell them your cable isnt working right,before they come hook up a few cables and when they get there they will hook it for free.I know I hooked up 3 or 4 aday when i worked for them.PEACE
