Default Grow on top of Buildings

I would like to hear the pros and cons of growing things on top of buildings, not necessary just marijuana...just looks like it would be a good way to use space that is otherwise vacant at all times. Just throw your thoughts in...there are no wrong and right answers.

Thats actually a huge growth area right now. Doing that conserves heat and reduces the "carbon footprint" of a building, so its especially useful in cities. They will start to pop up everywhere, especially with buildings trying to become energy star certified.

Doesnt a lot of the heat, dust and pollution rise up to the tops of buildings?
Also helicopters would be a problem unless you used some kind of rippled glass greenhouse thing and some serious air conditioning.
But to be honest i haven't a clue as to what the plants would be like and how safe it may or not be as i live in a village.

oh yeah, and it works wonders with rainwater... check this and this out if you dont believe me.

Switzerland has just passed a bylaw which states that new buildings must be designed to relocate the green space covered by the building's footprint to their roofs - even existing buildings -including historical buildings - must now green 20% of their rooftops. This has created an increased demand for research and material/product design, which will soon be available to North American markets.

If it was the only choice, I would go with a greenhouse on the rooftop. Great sunny spot!

Security would scare the hell out of me though...every helicopter would be suspect..

I would imagine it would work great, would only have to worry maybe about birds as far as animals go. they could get rain water, fully exposed to light all day. sounds like an ideal outdoor grow spot imho
