Had an EKG and chest X-ray on Thursday. The Dr.'s nurse called and said that the chest X-ray was clear, but the EKG showed something abnormal. She said that I may have to see a cardiologist, soon.
So, I took my dog for a walk and was thinking about my mortality. While on our walk, I got another call from the nurse. This time, she says the X-ray showed a "nodule", whatever that is.
I went in Friday for a CT scan of my lungs. Quick and painless, was the scan. Now, I must wait until Monday for the results of the scan. It looks like a looooong week-end, ahead.
Knowing the incompetence of the personnel at this medical facility, I'm thinking it may have been a thumb print on the X-ray. At least, that's what we're hoping for.
No diagnosis, yet. So, I guess a positive attitude is in order.

Right you are, Pappy! Stay positive. Worrying is a waste of precious time and energy. But, talking about this kind of thing with your family here isn't.
Like you said, it's probably just a smudged plate. It happens all the time.

Hon, nothing you can do until you know something. I know a couple years ago, I had a mammogram and they called me back as they said they found something. I had to wait a week before I could go back and I was so scared. I redid the test and it was just a fold of skin. All for nothing. And even if it isn't nothing, you are in the right place to get all the help we can give you. And you know we will.
We love you Pappy and will hold your e-hand if you need us to.
BIG hugs to you.
Peace

Yeah, they like freaking you out. That way, they can sell you more pills to deal with the stress they cause.
It's job security for them.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts.
I've been extremely busy today; gardening and assembling a "gourmet cart". A fake wood thing for the microwave.
I'm not sure who, but some dude suggested I smoke a phat indica joint. I did that, and it was just what I needed. Great advice, SD.
Thanks again, everyone. I'll update when I find out anything.

And it is better to find out in advance and deal with it than not know and get knocked over with something out of control, babes. So you are doing the best you can and no point in worrieing until you know something. Even then, worry never makes anything better.
We love ya babes.
Peace

Hey man, just reading around the site,
wanted to add some words of encouragment...
Hope your doin okay, You know ...our mind is our own worst enemy,
Everytime that un-easy feeling or worry, comes thru your mind
Boot it out! with positive thoughts,
tell urself your gonna be okay, either way it goes, And remember good things in life you've done or accomplished and dwell in the goodtimes,
Our mind likes to accuse us quickly, and scare us even quicker!!
So in the next few days try "Mind Control" lol,Promised to pass time !!
whip ur mind into shape and dont let it worry you for ONE SECOND!!
(talk to urself if u have to, i tell my mind to shut tha **** up all the time, and im not one bit crazy )
Good luck brotha'

I think I have it all figured out, now.
When you die, if you've been good, you go to the beach.

I've been thinking about,... what happens next? A couple of profundities have made it quite clear to me, that there is no possible way to know.
If one considers a concept of "something/anything" having NO beginning and NO end, one would certainly wonder,..."How can that freakin' be?"
On the other hand. If one contemplates "something/anything" having a beginning,...a definite moment of creation,...prior to which existed NOTHING,...then, after a "time",..."something/anything/EVERYTHING",... STOPS,... ENDS,... FINIS,... KAPUT!!! Then, the logical question is, "How can that freakin' be?"
I've heard it said that there is a very thin line between genius and insanity. Not only is the line thin, it's getting blurry.

Hey Pappy - this gives me some comfort as I consider mortality and its aftermath....I try to think about what it was like before I was conceived....as far as I can tell it was ok...don't remember anything....I figure my death is going to be pretty similar...going home to no problems....
But we are way ahead of ourselves here....for now I hope things are going to be well health wise for you....and I know a man of your strength and character can handle whatever life seems to come up with.
and all those googd vibes are comming your way my friend

Pappy | Dear Pappy,
no matter what, if it is a chronic or life-threatening condition please seek a second opinion FIRST. it's how we react to health-care people that really determines our fate, do we give them complete control and accept their word as the final one? i don't. i'm not even certain that HIV alone causes AIDS, and i have many, many doubts.
i had a perfectly healthy immune system when they started me on meds. that was the end of that. i could also play guitar, and walk without a cane, and walk without a gram of methadone in my body everyday. that's right, i take almost an entire gram of methadone everyday for pain. three days without methadone and i would probably die or at least pray for that to happen.
you decide what they do. i was being pressured to have an MRI, and i thought, 'do i want these monkeys to poke around inside me noggin' under any circumstances?' and my gut shouted 'NO', so i nixed the expensive test that in the past has been 'inconclusive' other than proving that i am indeed a human being and not composed of thousands of tiny aliens.
i have seen too many people harmed by butchers and misdiagnosed, told they had AIDS when they didn't, told they had aneyurisms that 'may or may not be dangerous' which have never changed in size but she still worries-does it help her to know that she has three congenital aneyurisms? i doubt it, she's already panic-disordered.
just remember, Pappy, you are in charge. don't let them railroad you into believing anything, because they are human and OFTEN make mistakes. many blessings to you, and good health in abundance!
