Being fathers day, it has been an emotional day, my oldest son called me today. Just the thought, brings tears to my eyes.
Without going into detail on what happened...I sincerely hope that when I do grow up, I am half the man that he is.
Peace

Ohhh fatman.....I love you too dude. Happy fathers day to you my dear friend.
I've been through alot in my life, in fact as far as I am concerned, my life is over.
There are no more surprises or new experiences to take on. I've started many a business in my life, in fact, I have never, ever been an employee. I've been Dunn & Bradstreet rated. Been on the cover of several trade magazines for blazing new paths. Done lots of commercial real estate deals, and have had what many would say to be an exciting life.
I have seen life taken away, and I have seen life given freely too.
None of it counts for a hill of beans, without kids, simple as that.
I do not have a wall covered with the awards/plaques I've received over the years, for that means nothing to me. I do however have 1000's of pictures of my children.
I was there watching each one being born, there is nothing that compares to watching your own baby being born, except maybe watching that life grow up.
Peace

Happy Father's Day, to all dads, here at GP. My daughter, 17, called from a friend's house this morning, to say, "Happy Father's Day". Something so simple really made my day. You are right, vid. Nothing tops getting to watch the birth of your children, and watching them grow up. I wish everyone would realize that, once you have children, your priorities change, and that all you do is either directly or indirectly influencing them.

Happy Father's day to all.
I meet my Dad when I was 4. He took my mother and her 6 childeren ages 4-10. If you can imagene a man crazy enough to that, but he did and he is still here today 38 years later. This family has had our share of trials and I'm sure we will have more. We've been estranged for 5 years and before that it had probably been 15 years (since we lived in another state) that all of our family has been together.
Our family has reached out to each other in a way that has melted the barriors. We are a Family again. W e had a huge Mothers day celibration and we had a Huge Fathers day. We went to a lake and BBQ, played in the water, had 3 boats to play and fish. It was a Fantastic Fathers Day for my Dad and all the wonderful men, fathers in our family.
There is not aanother man on this planet that I would rather have for a Dad. I Love you and I hope to never be out of your life again.
Happy Fathers Day Dad.

I still miss my dad. He died at 56 in '58. I was 9. I was lucky to spend as much time with him as I did. He always took me with him to work. He ran a movie theater, and I would sit in the projection room and "help" with re-winding film reels. Sometimes, he would let me choose which cartoon to splice into the first reel. I loved hanging out with him.
