hmm...i'm not close to being 40 but, i use to drive a 87 honda crx si...vroom. stock internals, stage 1 racing clutch, aftermarket intake, intake manifold rebuild, And1 exhaust, rear drop springs, removed most interior...15.3 fastest 1/4 on stock tires. This was my project car but i scrapped the project when O'ahu closed it's only race track, fortunately i smoke enough herb to realize street racing isn't worth it.
uncompleted: racing headers, motor rebuild, front/rear strut bars, and full sway bar kit.

on the southern coast of Oregon near the town of Florence. There are some beautiful dunes. That was a long time ago. If you dropped the clutch on that jeep and it would leap completely off the ground. So much fun. The first time I went out of the Coliseum (a monster climb) I had Van Halen blaring on the stereo and when I went out the top it was like having sex but more fun. No way I could drive it today.
Actually someone stole that jeep from me and I have never seen it again.

Rep Power: 72 | | Well back in the seventies I drove a Dodge Charger, 383 magnum, 2 4 barrels, 3-speed auto with a lock-up torque converter and B&M shift kit. Couldn't find a pic in the right paint colours though, mine was "Lipstick Red" with a white vinyl top and white interior. Best car I've ever owned too in many ways, of course it would be too thirsty to drive with these gas prices, when I put the hammer down the tach and speedo went up and the gas gauge went down,,,

'65 Mustang with the original pony interior. V8 more car than I could handle. Got it up to 120 mph and chickened out. The throttle wasn't even all the way down. Wish I still had that car.

Back in the 70s, I had an MG Midget. I loved/hated that car. Loved it when I was cruising around with the top down in July. Hated it all winter (western Pennsylvania). When temps dropped below 50 F, I had to use spray starter fluid to get it running. Had to change plugs every few months. At the time I could only afford one car.

I bought a "70 Dodge Super Bee, when the "71's came out. 440 sixpack, 4 speed Hurst shifter. 395 hp stock. Color = Plum Crazy Purple, white vinyl top.
I think the price was either $4200 or $4700 on the sticker. When I sold it, (damn) the guy asked about the gas mileage. I said, "You get there so fast, it doesn't matter."

Rep Power: 500 | | Who remembers the Sheriff in the early 70"s dodge commercials
My dad got hold of a test car that had been used by the guy that played the sheriff,A 1970 Dodge Charger 383 Hemi. That's when the speed limits were 70
This baby flat out put you in the back seat.I remember him getting on the expressway and punching it and in less than a qtr mile we were over 120 on the speedometer. And gas was .29 cents a gallon.
Me I got my first rod in 1980 a 68 Lemans 326 V-8(what a piece of crap, but it sounded good)
In 86 I got my hands on a 68 Firebird that had the motor upgraded to a chevy 305 small block.I had that car for 4 days and totaled it on the way to the body shop to have it restored.
In 92 I got hold of a 1970 Chevelle with the 350 Rocket motor,Pumpkin orange, chrome painted black, and Dark tinted windows.R235x60x15 tires all the way around.
Now that was a ride,I brought it back from the brink of death, was able to race it a couple times. And had to deside weather I should keep it and get tickets around town, or sell it.I sold it.
I picked up a 95 Mustang GT Convertible in Aug. of 07. The last of the 5.0 ltr motor with Auto trans.I've put a new retro top on it myself. It's white with a tan top.I love to ride around with the top down, maybe I'll take her out tomorrow it's going to be in the upper 60's.This pony loves to run and be ridden hard.I feel the hairs on the back of my neck raise up just thinking about it.It's a GUY THING,MOORE POWER.
Peace

Ruined me for all other cars.. 30+mpg when MPG didn't matter..
