What kind of site do you think Greenpassion is?

Greenpassion.org. An incredible site, I'm sure we all agree, .

After browsing the forums, I realized that we have slipped a little in our pro-active duties.

I am to blame as everyone else is, so please don't think that I am trying to point fingers, or anything like that.
In fact, please don't take this in a negative way at all.
This is not aimed at anyone, and neither is it anything to "be aimed" anyway, .

One thing that I should mention early on, is, Greenpassion is not solely a "cultivation education" site. At all.
That is only a small part of the actual mission statement of GP.
If you look at the site description in the title bar of your favorite browser(Firefox, Internet Explorer), you'll see that we are "Dedicated to Cannabis Education(We do a good job in that department, IMO), Medicinal, Recreational, and Cultivation(we have that down pat, ).
That says what I mean, almost in a nutshell, but not completely.
Let's look at our agenda.

So, why am I asking this, you may be wondering, or, what's my point?
My point is that somehow from the inception of GP to now (yes, I have been here since the beginning), it SEEMS like the focus has somehow shifted to only cultivation. Insomuch so, that if you were to happen across GP for the first time, you would get the impression that we are a "grow" site. When in fact, we are not.

Then again, maybe it's just me, you could say, lol, but I don't think so.
I can't remember the last time there was a thread by me or anyone else that was aimed at us acting on our mission statement.
Sure, there have been threads here and there about different goings on in local areas, but I have not seen or maybe I am just not aware of any actual organization.

I know that we are all busy with the usual day to day activities, routines and such, but if we want to see any progress made in the fight to legalize cannabis, we need to do more.

I, for one, am game for anything that is going to be practical in the struggle against the unjust laws that plague my country(the U.S.), and indeed the rest of the world, seeing as how we have members from all different parts of the globe.

So, if anyone has any ideas on how we as a site can organize in some way to make a difference, please let me know.

I don't have any ideas myself, as far as GP goes, I mean I do what probably everyone else here does, you know, donate money(when I can, I've not made a contribution to either NORML or MPP since we got our taxes back), and try to educate those around me about the truth of cannabis, and give herb to folks who I think could benefit from it and cannot afford to buy or grow(and of course, I know them to be COOL, LOL).

I know, I know, how can I start a thread like this and not have an idea?
That's a good question, actually. The answer is, I don't have one, but I am available to help.
So, I guess I am volunteering myself to pre-join any effort that we as a site need/can come up with to make a difference.
As diverse as this site is, I'm sure that we can, as a group, come up with something that would make us, and even Marc Emery proud, lol.

So..............any suggestions? Thoughts?

Two members come to mind. Mogie and Green_Nobody. These two post frequently of political issues which concern MMJ and recreational use. I, for one, am amazed how much information I have gotten from them. Maybe there hasn't been as many relevant posts recently, but I don't think we have gotten too far from GP's mission statement.
After all, no matter how good the information is, it is useless unless we do something with it. If we, as individual members, don't act on it, information is just information.

I mentioned Mogie and Green_Nobody, because IMO they are the most prolific posters of relevant political/medical info. There are, of course, many other members who post good info. The list would just get longer and longer, the more I think about it. I know that I don't have the time, or inclination, to search the internet for relevant info, like Mogie and GN. I am really glad that they do.

It is a good idea, though, to be reminded from time to time, of our full purpose.

My point is not to only remind us, friend, but to spur us toward organized, effective efforts. Not just posting and reading info, sure, it is great to be informed, I mean after all, knowledge IS power.
But what are we doing as a collective to improve things? THAT is my point.
We're not doing anything that lives up to our statement. Nada.
I honestly wish that I could come up with something for us to do, but I haven't yet.
So, that's why I posed the question. To see who else would be interested in actually making an effort.

Perhaps we can put ads together and distribute them to different sites across the web, site we can access in such a way, or post them in places people can use, such as myspace for example.
You know, kind of the opposite of the "Above the Influence", perhaps a "Above the Ignorance" campaign, one in which we can all contribute material.
Do you see what I mean? Surely I'm not alone on this.
How can one desire freedom and not actively pursue it?

how about taking donations for normal if people wish to have greenpassions be the name that is showed instead of there own. i know i hear people say they would give to normal if there name would not show up as the one giveing the money cuase they think giving a donation is going to get them busted

Fatman,

Much wisdom in what you are saying, and it mirrors what I have been quietly preaching for some time now. Not the issue of GP, as we all know this is "The Ultimate Kwan" of all MJ sites, world wide. And, seeing your post tells me that the collective wisdom of the folks on this site desires to do more than just chat about what "WE" can do to help make the MJ world a better place.

THAT, my friends, is what GreenPassion is all about, IMO.

Let me make a proposal here that, if we are successful, will put GreenPassion in the mouths of potentially every grower.

Develop a clear, concise set of rules, to be accepted and followers by growers worldwide, both medical and commercial. A basic "Shit to do, and shit not to do" kind of list, but a set of rules that, if followed, will not only let the grower raise their crops safer, but they can do it with some sense of integrity that they are equally honorable among their fellow growers. He or she can take pride in their work, and comfort from knowing they have shown respect for the plant, and the community they live in.

"The GreenPassion 10 Commandments of Marijuana Cultivation - For Medicine or Profit".

Advertise it, PUBLISH IT, spread it around to any and all sites you can find. Make damn sure that GreenPassion copyright info is attached in all cases. Make it a part of a growers education.

PREACH IT! If we, as a collective here on GreenPassion, can accomplish this small task, we will not only make a very positive mark in the MJ world, but we will also make GreenPassion a site known by all.

That's what I think is most needed in our culture today, and if it can be done effectively, the folks here have the tools to do it.

There are good thoughts and ideas here, that's for sure. So far we have come up with:
1. An ad campaign telling the truth about cannabis.
2. Collecting donations from members for NORML (& MPP?) and then making those donations in the collective name of Greenpassion.
3. ISO is gonna put together a "The GreenPassion 10 Commandments of Marijuana Cultivation - For Medicine or Profit", item for distribution.

Excellent. For one thing, I know that we will be able to give the ads to different places such as Nirvana seed co., HIDHut, Greenlightnin' Nutrients, and any others we can find.

Now, I am ready whenever you guys are, so let's keep the ideas coming, or go with what what we have now and organize it. If I can get a few volunteers, I don't think, I KNOW we can do this.

So, stoners, potheads, cannabis enthusiasts, stand and be counted! Let's do this.

Hey Guys&Gals,We all can do are part in bring Greenpassion Mission to everybody.Fatman what do you think of this ,do a graphic of our mission statement and site logo that members can download and print or have it printed.Poeple that go to dispensary passion clubs and any meeting for safe use of MJ could print them out on there printer or have a print shop do it.Take one Free,You can have it blowed up to poster or 8x10.We can contact in our area under ground new papers that fight for legal use of MJ and get them going too.But what ever we do we must carry the MISSION STATMENT OUT.It has to be on the up&up.We can inlist somebody to get the infor in there area on who to contact and how to go about it.something like Michelle Rainey dose in canadian for MJ people and post it in this fourm.We all can do this in our own area.We could get everybody to put all the finding in a fourm and the one in there place can download it and mail hand deliver or post it in public use it at meeting and rally.That's all I got. That would be wonderful guys. We could get it to the people by posting it all over; head shops,health food stores, naturalpath offices, wherever we can think, pass them to people that we know that smoke the ganja. Start at the "grass roots" and work up. It would be cheap to do and add also to our site possibly with advertising our goals. Paper the world with Green Passion Statement of purpose and goals, with grower code of conducts. This could also be done anomimiously for people that are concerned about security.

I am not sure if this is applicable, but here in Utah and I believe in every State the Gay people have a Gay Pride Day. They have a parade and bands playing in the park, like a festival. Utah just had there's last weekend and there was 2700 that attended. They called it a giving knowledge about the gay culture day. Ya, here in ridgide Utah. It was a big success.
If we got groups together on the same day everywhere. That would only take I guess a couple years, to be more successful than the Gay Pride Day festival. It would be on the News and spread the knowledge of MMJ.
Am I off the road here??? Or have I been up in the night???
