Default Need help with dwindling seedlings

Started with 8 pots... 6 sprouted...

growing since saturday, germinated paper towel method, water w/superthrive (1 drop) on planting day till saturated, drop of grow big and drop of superthrive to 1 solo cup of water over all 6 plants 2 days ago...

now I'm down to 2 plants...

One that has a thin stalk and is falling over and one that looks thicker and better... the rest look dried out and dead or have just stopped growing...

on one the stem dried out and shriveled up... they have all fallen onto the dirt...

what should I do? I repotted the 2 plants into full solo cups (from half ones) and filled up to their leaves with fresh soil and re-wet the soil...

any help taken...

what are you using for soil? do you have pics?..sounds like it could be over fertilization. Happened to me the first time I had time release nutes and added some to the soil, the stalks got sucked in (right in the middle) and they toppled over. Pics would be the best thing to help. Definitely need soil info.

well i would start out with not to feed fertilizers to a seedling... and end with asking you too for some pics of your grow as well as what kind of pots and soil do you use there. if it happens to be MG shit soil i can tell you why your babies dieing on by one - time released fertilizers, with every watering a giant blast.

besides this, always one plant per pot!!

soil mix is as goes (scoops are from a solo cup) - 5 scoops MiracleGro Organic, 1.5 scoops Perlite, and .5 scoops MiracleGro Blood Meal (i think its like 12-0-0)

MiracleGro Organic, as far as I know, has no time-release nutes...

Check the bag for your perlite..another member says he saw some MG perlite with nutes in it. As for it turning color that fine its just from the soil. It could have just got a jolt of blood meal

yup just water with plain water for about 2 weeks or so let it get established.

you won't flush those killer fertilizers out so fast - they are granulates designed to stay for very long.
get some good and simple peat soil and a back of normal perlite - you even use insulation perlite as long it isn't coated with silicon, that is what i use - mix your new soil to be set and then flush the MG shit of your babies and plant em in the fresh soil. if the damage wasn't to severe yet they can still make it.

with every drop more water you release more of those fertilizers into the soil and in addition if he isn't using pH'ed water he will add a second damage factor to this.

S_ _ _ can that soil and get some new soil and perlite.Dont use any bone meal or anything but soil.Water when dry only and no nutr till there are three sets of alternating leaves. Then start nutr at 1/4 of what the bottle says.As you get ready to pot up to larger pots mix your soil a few days a head and mix in the bone meal and all your soil additives. Then you can water one pot and check the run off. When tranplanting dont water in with nutr water.Plain water with a drop of superthrive. When they dry water with the nutr, dry plain water dry, plain water dry, water with nutr ect., PEACE

I just took the plants out of the old dirt by flooding it and then grabbing the plants up out of the soupy mixture and immediately transfering them into the new dirt putting the root into a hole and pushing soil in around the plant. The new soil is just the Organic dirt with a small layer of blood meal on top... then watered with a drop of superthrive and a drop of big grow in a solo cup of water... hopefully the new settings will make them ok...

It will help with root rot.

Your best bet is to repot with better soil. Try to get rid as much of the MG soil as possible without damaging the root ball.

If I took them completely out of soil and held them with my hands and then put them back in soil is there any chance they'll take and start to grow?

Yes a very high chance.

I have done this many times. Just try to be as gentle as possible with the roots.

Make sure to have your new mix ready and anything else you will need ready before hand.

Take your time.
It is not really hard to do.

I know it can be scary.

Most people will wait to just see how the plant will do when the are beginers.

I say go for it.

We can only learn from our mistakes.

You can read about it and watch other people do it.

You only truly learn it once you start actually trying to do it yourself.

For me this is the best part of growing.
Learning how to make the best possible bud.
The best bud of course only comes from the happiest of plants.
