Rep Power: 140 | | Leafs problem - urgent help needed
Hi guys,how are you.
I encountered serious problem with leafs.I have some plants in 2 week of flowering and some in first.plants in second week have serious problem with leafs.I can't identify what causes it and need your help.I attached some pictures of leafs I cut.can't say I can see any spores or something that would indicate mould or fungi. initially leafs started getting softer and softer and then drying very rapidly, turning grey/brown and dying.I had massive problem with humidity but got dehumidifier and keep grow room dry with temp. 77F (25C).do you know what can cause that problem? is there any way to sort it out or I should start thinking about next grow?Heeeelp, please
plants in the first week of flowering began showing similar problems...
my guess would be humidity caused lack of proper leafs ventilation and cells started dying.closer look shows that leafs' cells just dried out.but I desperately need your opinion.
thanks a lot for your opinions and suggestions.

I have that problem with seedlings right now. I checked the roots and they were not looking good. I think a combination of too much water and too hot in the chamber. I do not know so I will be interested in the answers too.

Do you have a fan blowing across your plants 24/7?
Hard to tell from the pics, but it could be a lot of things from nutes, heat to pH or just not enough fresh air.

Fan is set on 12/12 but I'm going to change it to 24/7 with dehumidifier set on timer for hour every two hours and humidity kept around 50%.room temp. 77F, water ph 6.6 (soil grow), organic nuts Biobizz line.I've had this dehumidifier running for 2 days now and situation seems to stabilize a bit what is a good news.ISO,I think your guess about the lack of fresh air is spot on.A week ago I had water driping down the walls due to humidity.there was not much I could do about it then as the water didn't come from my house but from neighbours.I can prevent it now but the damage is done.
WB,ventilate them, ventilate! Lads, thank you very much for your quick response. I'll be back in the evening and now...time to go and work a bit.have a good day |

Hey, if you determine that your soil may be tainted with any kind of fungus or mildew hit the roots with some SM-90. SM-90 is a foliar feeder designed to spray right on the leaves. It kills most mold and mildew on contact. We had some of that dreaded white mold this year. The kind they say if you get it just pull your plants. We sprayed the heck out of 'em with the SM-90 and trimmed all the leaves we could visibly see the mold on. It saved our crop. Dilute it and spray on the leaves for foliage control and/or straight (not diluted) into the roots (or less diluted). We heard some horror stories this year about the mold destroying a lot of good crops late in the season. We were told we were lucky. Not luck... SM-90. We swear by it... won't ever grow without it.
Even if there is nothing wrong with your plants it doesn't hurt to give them an occasional dose now and then. It's just full of stuff the plant loves and it is all we use to control mites as well. One fella told us he had a plant that was dying, turning yellow all over and wilting. He didn't know what was going on with it. All the others were doing fine. He poured some SM-90 right into the pot and in two days it snapped out of it and started putting off green leaves and never turned back. It probably was fighting some kind of fungus in the soil and the SM-90 killed it on contact.
Anyway. I don't know that much about all that can go wrong with a plant, that's why we always have SM-90 around. So far we haven't ran into very much it didn't help with.

Hey Guys,Hooker you are right about the sm-90 it good stuff.SM-90 is a wetting agent and will help get the nutr into your plants and it dose stop alot of molds and fungus and BUGS from getting a hold on your plants. You can use sm-90 to spair the folage, it can be use every 3 days for 3 application and then you have to give it a rest.As for soil grows I use it at the start of the grow,I mix up my soil and then wet it with SM-90 and then plant your plants. As a wetting agent it will help the soil increases mosture penetration and helps the water and nutr for uptake by the plant.Alway use with caution it is a non-plant food ingredientsSorry for the rambling on but it's good stuff. Peace

Yes, toke turned me on to this stuff a while ago. It is also organic, made from coriander oil, as well. It works very well.

Good people, thank you for your help
I reduced humidity and ventilate the room a lot and the problem seems to disappear. very good
thanks a lot for the tip about SM-90.I'm currently trying to locate it in internet shops in Europe cos I think it will take shorter to get it from there than from US or Canada.
my god, never thought gardening can be so stressful
all the best guys.

Thank you Ileso for help and encouragement.I panicked a bit cos it seemed another try on grow would go to bite the dust.last one turned out to be 18 males from 20 seeds so a lot of wasted time and energy and I hoped to make it up on this one and those leafs happened.but it seems doing good now and I hope it will stay this way.
thanks and all the best.
