Default Gettin Rid Of... Gnats

hi i have a problem with these guys, and after alot of rweading i only fould one guy who had a 100% success rate.
here are a few posts

Quote:
No body can give you a specific time period. It all depends on humidity, temps, plant size, etc, etc, etc.

If you are still in veg, and the plants are a decent size, like at least 6" tall, I would let the soil dry out completely. And when I say completly, I mean until the plants start to droop. As long as you are checking on your plants at least once a day, they shouldn't droop too bad. But by doing this, it will first off, help with the fungus gnats, it will also let your plants get some atmosphere to their root zone, and it will give you an idea of what a "wet" container feels like compared to a "dry" one. This will make watering much easier in the future.

If you are in flower, this is going to be a little trickier as you don't ever want your plants to droop. You can also use this method if in veg, but is a tad more work. I would pull one or two plants out of their pot, and see how wet the soil is on the bottom. This is where the water will stay the longest. Keep doing this daily until the soil looks and feels dry.

Remember, you always want a good wet/dry cycle with your plants. If you plants are sucking up tons of water because it hot, etc, lower your nute dose. My plants get watered every 3 days or so. Once you have been growing long enough you will know pretty much hey I need to water tomorrow, or what ever. Get your system down, and you will be set.

Proven method: I had the gnat problem. Let your soil dry out, hard as a brick, til your leaves start to droop. Once that has happened, feed your plant a little water (1 to 2 quarts), come back 8 hours later, and add another quart. Wait for the plant to respond to this before you add additional water. The eggs will die from having no moisture. I can prove it was effective cuz today I took clones off one that really had the issue, found nothing in the soil whatsoever. Also, it has been my experience that they do not like the reflections from mylar, they get like REAL HOT n shit. (the adults) It's their eggs that feed off your roots, not them. Sticky traps for adults (though mine just simply disappeared. And dry that shit OUT! Trust me, easier than adding some stupid shit, and costs you nothing, shit, you even save water you don't use...... DO IT
this is from two dif forums, cannabisculture and rollitup.
would it be woth a try?

Hey Ileso. Yes, it does work, but don't dry them tooo much or you will kill them.

Also look here to read what else has worked. I am still trying the peppermint tea now, have it down to just a couple, and have not seen any in a day or so.

For traps too, it is good to use half water half vinegar with a drop of dish soap so they sink in. Seems to work as well or better than the sticky traps for me.

Good luck, babes. They are a pain in the hiney to get rid of.

Peace

Okay, ileso, with that tea, do not make it too strong. The ratio is one cup per bag per 2 gal of water. I do not check my ph Ileseo, I know, bad angel, but I don't have a problem, nor to I have a ph meter. I have checked it with ph stips before so I know where it usually is. I do know my water is fine, and I use dolimite lime in my soil mix, so I don't worry about it, as it is pretty balanced so far. Most organic mixes are pretty well balanced if lime is used.

ISO, we cannot get gnatoral here, I have tried.

Peace

If you have a problem, Ileso, flush them. That will neutrilize the ph.
