Default Topping A Mom...

I have a question on topping. My mother plant seems to be a bit sativaish. Like I said I'll be cloning from this plant but will eventually flower it. Im a bit worried that when she does flower....she'll grow too tall.

She was planted on 7/5. Is it too late to top? If not...how long is the wait for her to recover and begin producing clonable branches?

It is not too late.
You just need to keep the lights close so she does not stretch.

You should be able to take clones in 4-5 weeks.
You want to wait as long as you can.
The clones do much better coming from a more mature plant.

Well its been in flower a week and showed sex. I took it out tiday and put it back under 24/0 lighting.

Its getting tall. I want to top....let it recover....then begin cloning asap. But the wait, Mid suggested may be in order. I want them to ROOT. The last batch just hung out in the rockwool like a bunch of hobos.

I wanna keep her for a round or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 rounds of cloning...depending on how she smokes.

Next question....I wanna top the plant about 2 nodes down from the top...is that ok to do? I always see the topping of just the top growing leaf cluster for lack of a better word.

Its white Widow...and my grow space height is about 4.5ft max. Its a clost and the light hangs from clost rod.

you could cut the sucker in half if it is healthy.

Wait the 4-5 weeks though.

I have taken clones while the plant was still in a flower stage.
They did not make it. ( I should add I did not give them as long to root in the water either)

I feel like I could have done a better job with them.
It seems hard to remember to do everything you need to do when you have more plants.
