Red face Question on Nutrients

I have a question(s) on nutrients. I'm using Humboldt A/B and would like to know what you hydro growers would reccomend? Also what EC works the the best for veggie growth? I'm up to 1.66 @ 5.8 ph. The plants are 10 days old and I think they are looking ok. But what the hell do I know, this is the first time fo me. I'm growing White Widow & Bubblelisish in rookwool cubes, 4x4x4. I plane to take clones and flower for sexing and keep the mothers. I'm using a drip system and currntly have it set up for 3 x per day @ 12 min. just getting some flow through the cubes. Here's some pic's @ week 2.
Please let me know your thoughts. Lot of questions. Thanks Big Red

Hi Big Red,

Actually, for the level you are running the nutes at, that little one looks pretty damn good! If I am correct, that 1.66 relates to about 850 PPM, pretty hot for a 10 day old baby (at least for any of my kids..LOL!)

In your last pic I can see what may be the beginnings of a nute burn on the right leaf. I would suggest an EC more like .6 to .8 at that level of growth

I've never grown in the rockwool cubes with that method, so I'll leave that part up to one of the other folks.

Looks like a nice setup, and you're asking the right questions! Gonna be some nice bud at the end of this grow...(the nose knows..

Thanks for the input ISO, and I thought the same thing about the fert. strength but they were pale green and slow groth (I think) so I upped the fert. I started out w/ .35 Ec then .85, then .10 and now 1.6. I didn't know what those spots were but seamed to be from birth. And your right 1.6 is about 850 in distilled water as base. That another thing all this stuff talk about ppm and never give you a base line. My tap water was like 250ppm. I quess when we talk about ppm we should assume 0 ppm starting water.

I put my early girls into nute shockby accident, and ISO is right, that looks like a starter nute burn on that last one. My spots got progressively bigger and then she started to droop down and turn yellowish-brown. Watch for the early signs...

Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the feed back digix. I guss I could have burned that one but I started out with such a low nute strength, like .35 EC and why just one? The new leave are fine. I had some leaf drupe as they started to grow and pale green leaves. So I went up to .85 EC and they started to look better but still pale green. So up to .10 EC things started to look better. Wondered if ph should go down, an article from Cannabis.com suggested 5.2 ph on hydro and .75 - 1.5 EC and the Grow Bible and several others suggested .16 EC to 2.6 max EC @ a ph of 5.8 to 6.0 Did a resovior change and set ph to 5.8 and went to 1.6 EC. Again thanks for the input, I'll be watching.
