I have several small buds popping up on lower branches, and I was wondering if I should prune them. Does that improve the size of the main cola? Or will this just make the plant unhappy? (Also, I'm doing a SOG.)

as a CFL grower i think you would definitely benefit from trimming the lower
branchs from the plant as they will get little light in any event.

although, lol, as a rule, you want to do that pruning in the first 2 - 4 weeks
of flowering or there won't be enough time for the plant to recover from your
minor surgery and begin putting on weight again.

I have never really measured how far up...I always figure on keeping my small plants at a maximum of 4 shoots.

Yeah bro...We as a community are blessed to have people such as Ed Rosenthal and Jorge Cervantes.

I learned so much from these dudes...I remember going to the book store years back and asking for Marijuana outdoors Guerilla Growing by Mr.Cervantes...the cashier looked at me like do do on stick...so I gave him a half baked smile and said "you ought to try it, it might help with that personality problem you have."
