this is a technique me and my freinds use thats kind of like toping or fimming. just not as detail oriented. you take your fingers and pinch the top of your plant where the newest leaves are forming. it will split your stem into two three or sometimes four stems just popping up. make sure it has at least one set of fan leaves.

pretty much we just pinch the leaves off and until we feel the top of the stalk give a little. and old school is always awesome. lol.
