Default Help me stress my plants!

So ive got this Sadhu strain ive been growing by clone for a while. Real nice indica/sativa hybrid. Id like to try out some new strains and im running out of room. I'd like to try and get so seeds so I can continue this strain later on. I just sprouted the last 2 seeds i had left and was thinking, instead of just praying for males why not try and stress them?

Do you guys think i should just pray for normal males or stress em into hermies? i know the seeds can all be hermie if the pollen was from a hermie plant but its just an experiment so i dont care.

Any suggestions?

First off wait and see what you get. Once you know you can either stress them or clone and them worry about breeding. It takes a lot sometimes to make a plant go hermie. I know Videoman did that experiment and it took him about a month to get it to hermie. Let nature take it's course first, it might not be a problem.

Peace.

Interesting. And you may have a male in the seeds you just hatched?

Well, you can certainly light poison them by making their schedules a mess, that'll do it..but you'll still have to flower them at some point, anyway.

Or, you could just wait about 3 weeks (you would have to anyway) and see if they will show their sex during veg. If both are females, you've not lost too much time, and then you can light poison them in flower. Just an hour of light in the middle of their 12 hr. night ought to do it.

Yeah it seems to me, that when you want em to turn hermie, it takes alot of work.
I think it took me closer to like 4 months to stress mine, and they went through alot, before they finally did. They actually never did hermie on me either, they reversed there sex. Started with femenized seeds and ended up with males. Go figure that one. Just when you think you know how to manipulate mother nature, she pulls an ace our her sleeve.
Peace

its been speculated that a true female won't hermy she might put a banana off here and there but never turn hermy from stress as thats how some breeders check to make sure they won't run into hermies later in the offspring in a breeding program ie they stress the crap out of a outstanding plants clone to see if it hermies or not if it does so easily then its not a true female also in speculation is the whole 50/50 female to male ratio as with useing the stress method 1/3 of the plants can change sex due to enviromental conditions like ph amounts of water amount of light the length of the light cycle evan ratio's of nutes all these at certain stages of seedling growth effect the sex ratio of the plants but true males and females will stay the same no matter what the coditions are as long as there is no hermy gene in its genes.

also if you don't get a male just give the a week of darkness and it will trigger the plants to turn hermy it will take a week or 2 after that for the male banana's to show but the plants genes are set to hermy if for some reason lets say a natural disastar occurs like total block of the sun will trigger the plants to make seed anyway it can which will cuase some of the plants at least to put out some male banana's to continue the species

just my 2 cents

sounds like fun,
you could do a myth buster type thing on them do all the things that you "not ment to" on them see what happens, also if you do this could you take pics for the plant hospital. ie over water them take a pic so people can see what the effects look like.

just a thought
