Rep Power: 53 | | Has anyone turned a female AUTOFLOWER into a hermie with the light technique?
Hi there. Getting some femenized lr#2 X auto ak47 seed, and hoping to make more feminized seeds from the resulting plants.
I know that light stress is an effective means of forcing a female to go hermie, if she is a normal cannabis plant. But I don't know if this will work for an autoflowering strain.
Does anyone know?

i know what you mean...i am not too sure about this when it comes to auto flowering strains like the one you are going to be growing. Im thinking it should work? Did you consider growing them all out first and just letting the males pollinate the females? That result will give you 1000's of seeds it will just take you a bit longer cuz you will have to go through a full cycle first.

Thanks for your reply.
Well, already got the seed. They are all feminized, so what you propose is not an option. Sounds good, just isn't an option. I'm really hoping to get a boatload of feminized seed out of this experiment. We'll see, though. I'll certainly post the results, if positive.

thanks for correcting me! i must have missed that they were feminized seeds. hmm then yea i would assume that if you stress em enough they will hermie and produce feminized beans for ya. Sounds like a good idea to me. Please, let me know how this goes!! I am very anxious about the results.

You could try other ways of stressing... like not harvesting it and letting it go well past maturity, and being as mean as possible to it.
(shake it, cut some of the leaves, stick a couple thumbtacks or needles through the stems and stalk, let it get a little bit drier between waterings, etc. as soon as it begins to flower.)

chaos actually has the best suggestions on this so far, auto flowers will continue to flower no matter what the light is, they will flower under 24 hour light or 1 hour of light.

Thanks everybody. Especially chaos.
I would never have thought of sticking pins into my plant, lol! But it is certainly worth a shot.
