Rep Power: 460 | | EXPERIMENT 1 : road to GP
ive decided to complicate my life just a tad.
im going to germ three seeds from this project.
SEED 1 ans 2: miss'x' X vietnam (F1 hybrid)
SEED 3: miss saigon seeds (control-P1)
what i wish to acomplish with this experiment are 4 things:
1: have a peek to see what miss'x' X vietnam cross is actually like. the seed stock should be a more or less homogenous with very slight variations. variations will be had once inbread with each other.
2: check out how miss saigon (pure vietnamese sativa) fares indoor.
3: produce some pollen from from 'miss saigon' and from the afghan currently there and cross these. producing F1's from pure vietnamese sativa and pure afghan indica. these will be for Experiment 2 (i could cross the afghan with the female on my balcony as shell be flowering for another half century anyway, but id like to see what she grows like indoors anyway - flowering times, production, effects etc.. and compare to the outdoor one as well)
4:if miss'x' X vietnam is anything worth growing i will pollinate it with itself. produce female seeds and distribute to whoever wants to try it. as youll be seeing me grow it first youll know what to expect etc. -i need to be realy luck and get a female from the one seed im germing)
im producing female pollen the SOMA way, by flowering for an extra 14 days until pollen sacks are produced.
(its going to be hands on for everyone, decisions on what to persue, what to trash etc [not that i actually ever really trash any seeds]).
afternote:
these will be fast grows as the plants wont have time to really mature because they will be flowering with the plants currently in the cab, ill keep em small.
peace.

they should germinate very rapidly. im putting them now in my 'germinator'. in cotton wool buried about half way with the point up. i believe they absorb the water better through the bottom as its the weakest part of the seed pod...
just the way i do it, no scientific basis at all.
i really want to be able to make this a hands on experience for everyone especially med users for one very simple reason. im not a med user (yet) so i have no real experience or knowledge of the needs of med patients. this is why ill need some volunteers further down the line to test its med value and give me indications of what to look for. ill be investigating a bit on sativa based medicine anyway. i know that different plants tend to be specific for different ailments due to the variation in ratios of the cannabinoids, but i did want to try for something that everyone would find useful... well thats the basic idea of it all...
but i definately dont want brain lock like my last creation. thats too heavy, i need something that doesnt incapacitate you (reason for being sativa based) but keeps you going. eye throb, munchies and derailing freight-train thought patterns.. heheheh
YOU know, old fashioned pot

had i known this before i could have saved my first strain..
only recently had i heard that a female can polinate itself eternally and have itself as its offspring sinse there is no genetic variation... like cloning itself but with seeds

How do you get it to have pollen? Make it a hermie? I know there is a type of acid seeds are treated with. Just curious.
Thank you

Thank you | i recently bought organic marijuana - soma style by soma; theres a part of the book where he talks about plant stress and hermapheradites... i noticed that if i flowered the plants 10 -14 days longer than usual, they developed male flowers. in AFT (age feminization technique), plants are grown 10-14 days longer to induce male flowers. makes me think that what this means is that all cannabis plants are naturally hermies if flowered for long enough...(?). well im hoping on trying this out.
peace

this is going to be trial and error till i find something worth keeping that i like etc... the group of three seeds in the corner are afghans i sprouted to put in my grow at the same time, just incase 1: any clone i take from the current ladies doesnt root and 2 the crosses i have take forever to flower.. cant wait 12 weeks to finish...

Hmm.. Would you be willing to trade some Thai seeds for some Arctic Wind seeds?

Haha, thanks man, yeah that's cool though.. Never had Thai before, but it looks pretty good. Gotta cut a clone and cross it with the secret plant, then i'll have the seeds.

you dont want to plant atleast 1 or 2 of them to see if they sprout?
if being cold is the reason they havent come out, mabey being in the cover and warmth of the soil will help..
do you have a heatpad? (just curious)

could be, thats one of the things i had thought of... i could just plant them and see if they sprout in the grow room... but they HAVE sprouted, they just dont come out.. if they stay any longer this way they will just mold away.. i have more of them, but they are precious little souls

Maybe they're shy and need to hide in the dirt before they come out. j/k. good hard work and patience. keep it up. Just because some may not post things doesn't mean we have given up.
