Rep Power: 460 | | Green Passions Own Strain
hi all,
ive a new project.
green passions own strain. hehehehe
heres how it goes. in my grow journal: my first urban outdoor grow
ive talked about starting a new breeding program. i know it sounds like a lot of time and trouble, but, its one of the things that i love doing with cannabis. breeding.
now, i havent quite settles on the name for my project, i had thought of just GREEN PASSION or ILESO'S PASSION.. BUT IM NOT SURE SO ANY INPUT FROM EVERYONE HERE IS WELCOME.. MAYBE WE CAN VOTE ON IT OR SOMETHING.
well, im a bit tired so im not going to write alot today. the genetics for now are purely south east asian, vietnamese to be exact. ie pure SATIVA. both mum and dad. ill get more especific next post, but mum has some great genes, shes very compact with an global internodal length of 1 to 2.5cm bot up along the main stem and along all of her branches which is the principal feature i want to keep for now, but she flowers real late outdoors beginning october (12hrs light). i dont know how she fares indoor, but i forsee that most of the breeding will be done in a cab so she'll be bread for indoor performance. from my sourse of the seeds (sis) this is some damned potent stuff, i dont know how long till finnish, but if it takes to long ill have to get in some early finnishing genes. maybe afghan#1 from sensi seeds which im currently beginning to grow as well. though i really would like to keep her 100% sativa. but that may not be totally workable. ill get into those details further along. any and all feedback is welcome, after all im dedicating this breeding program to the GREEN PASSION FAMILY.
... maybe i could call it just FAMILY... hmmm
there are some pics of part one of my new breeding program in the other thread for anyone thats curious, youll see the seed pods in thw latest photos, but ill bring them over here next post. these things take a while so dont sit up waiting.. but itll be interesting to watch. so you all see how it developes, especially indoors, and as ive never grown indoors all the feedback from master indoor growers as to nutes etc will be welcome, cause i need to have a perfect environment and growing conditions to breed good weed. ive only ever done this outdoors with excellent results by the way. even if i eventually lost the strain due to a messy incident with the LAW.. which wasnt too difficult cause i only had about 50 seeds. but this one may go comercial if its up to scratch which i believe it will be.
well thats all for now ill keep you all posted.
peace

ileso...congrats.
I cant foresee keeping the kind of meticulous records required for dealing with genetics.
maybe someday...

Hmmm.... can I foresee a partnership? :D
Also, I grow indoor, organically... My nutes are based off Foxfarm's line of products (as they carry the best organics for taste quality in my opinion for people like me who don't have time to hand-mix).. they include (for vegging) the Peace of mind tomato/vegitable dry fert (7-4-5) in conjunction with the Ocean Forest soil (fabricated for premium oxygen and nitrogen intake).. all of them are pH balanced (6.3 to 6.8, which is perfect for cannabis)... for flowering, the same combo, but I use a tiger bloom/water/empsom salts mixture to foliar feed (gotta clean the leaves, but juicy buds are worth the effort to me)..
also, foxfarm carries a line of organic pest control, too... good for those damned spider mites ;)
as for lighting, i'm an hps guy... sorry to those other light source advocates, but i'm in it for the lumens :P

| um,...
i didnt understand the coment... ? but keeping a logbook is the easy part, and in reality almos dispensible because a moderate memory is able too keep tab of the strains and genes, but i speak for myself.. the other strain i developed for example i remember perfectly in every detail. im mean, its a slow process which makes it the more simple to remember. i recomend breeding to anyone with enough space to be able to also grow males. heheehe, i always love saying that, hehehee. grw males, heheheh
but as for the rest ...
i dont remember if i mentioned it above, but im growing in dirt indoors as well sinse im mire at home with it.but once ive stabilized my vision ill have tried it in hydro as well and outdoors... im looking for good overall perfomance with this one... strenth, resistance, short internodes and good overall resin production... easy really... only difficulty is in stabilizing the strain... but theres long to go yet

Rep Power: 460 | | step 1: 50% INDICA/SATIVA cross
this will be step 1 as soon as i have room to try them. with this particular part of the cross im looking for two things. to keep the sativa traits in the high, the high branch rate but i want to get the flowering window down from october/december into a decent august/september quadrant, and maybe if possible make the plant shorter.
well heres for hoping.

Rep Power: 460 | | miss saigon seeds - 100% sativa - flowering october to november
the offspring of miss vietnam and her boyfriend mister vietnam.
ive around 12-15 seeds
these i pulled off today, but i left some on... ill get them soon.
these are the seeds ill keep pure for selective inbreeding and back crossing further on once ive a more or less stable strain.
(i pulled them off cause the seed bract was opening a bit and turning light yellow [maturity], the seed are very black inside it.
they have been growing for a month and a half almost. same as the ones in the post above. they were polinated on the same day. in general seeds tend to mature in a month to a month and a half.
after about half an hour next to the exhaust of my laptop the bracts have shrunk and the seeds are visible. I use this drying method to test my weed, because its constant warm and dry air blowing out the pc onto the buds. itll dry a small bud in around 2-3 hours depending on how much processing your pc is doing... heheheh
its relatively quick and he taste is better than oven or microwave dried buds...
