Co2 and lighting Hey people,
I've been reading alot of posts lately about home made co2 setups.
I wanted to step in and make sure that you are aware that if you are using CFL's, and you want to use co2, you are simply wasting your time and money. Don't do it. The best thing you can do to aid your grow, is improve your ventilation.
If you are growing with CFL's, you'll never get the plants metabolism going good enough to utilize any additional co2, the reason being is that adding supplemental CO2 will benefit the plants only if they are CO2-limited. Which means that, at ambient CO2 levels, the canopy is light-saturated. This is pretty difficult to achieve with CFLs.
Some alternative suggestions:
Increase your ventilation, output and input. Maybe place a stocking over your intake to prevent unwanted guests from entering, place an oscilating fan in your grow. Things like this will certainly improve your setup.
Peace
