Default Bud density

We've all seen airy buds, tight buds and everything in between. Now a lot of it depends upon genetics but I have been growing the same ww for over 2 yrs. and the buds seem to be getting airier and arier. The potency is the same and the thc, cbn and cbd are all in the same ratio as the mother plant.
My question is this. Does anyone know if this is normal for clones or is it something in the enviroment/nutes?

That shouldn't be happening with clones. Ph plays a part as do your nutes, ferts, temps, etc.

Is there anything that you have done or been doing different? Change ferts? Change soil?

Shaman hit right on it, how old are your lights? They wear out and still will light up, you know?

Lights are less than a year old. 3-400w mh/hps. I haven't changed anything that I am aware of. Check the ph after every nute add, Liquid karma/bgh when they need it. Lights are 2' above plant ( leaf burn if any closer). Water when they need it. Flush about every 3mo. if the tds get to high.

Airy buds usually indicate not getting enough light or ph is off at least for us dirt farmers.

oddish... there has to be something wrong, but ww is also a bitch if it comes to growing it, that is at least my experience with the strain...

The lights were new last Dec., they were my christmas gift to them. Could be they were a bad run at the factory.
I do believe it could be the lights, since the plants were healthy and bursting at the seams otherwise. Think I'll go get them an early christmas present this year.
Thanks to you all!

what is the P/K ratio on your bloom nutes??? What is your PH normally???? You may be locking out your P and K whick in my opinion can definitely cause airy buds.....Also what is the N ration of your bloom nute....too much N can make bud taste nasty and be very leafy in a leaf to bud ratio.....

p/k is 5:1, ph runs 6.8. No lock out since I flush every 4 weeks in soil. The plants are healthy, was just starting to notice the buds were getting airier every harvest. Since I harvest every month it was easy to notice. I stop feeding everything for the last month of grow, just pure h2o. Never did like the taste of fertilizer in my smoke. Fish emulsion is the worst!
My grow is set up so the plants ages are 1 month apart. 6each at 1,2,3 mo. in the veg. room and 6each at 4,5,6,7 mo. in the flower room. every month 6 harvested, 6 shifted out of veg. and 6 clones started. It's almost a full time job, glad I'm retired.
