how do you make your own strans. is it as easy as planting two different types in the same pot and the stuff in the middle will be a mix of the two buds? or is it a little harder than that? sorry if this question seems dumb.

LOL! Yes, it is a lot harder than that. And you should only plant one plant per pot of dirt if you want them to live.

It's very easy to cross 2 plants to create seeds
but breeding is very intense and requires experience and time and money and patience to stabilize the strain
and u need good genetics to boot

ha ha. thank you for the responses and i will check out that link when i get a chance, i got to read a little bit of it, and i think i kinda understand what needs to be done. thank you.

from what i read and have experienced .......
start with 2 very stable strains and thats a good start
but remember that when u cross 2 u will get the following.....at least
25% will be like mother....25 % will be like father.....50% will be a mix.........the more stable the less different phenos ull have in that middle 50%
then there is back crossing and imbreeding
do u just want to experiment with breeding?
save a male in a different room and collect pollen in a plastic baggie in the fridge
take a cutip and apply a small amount to a few side branches for your fav mom
then do the same 3 days later to the same side branches (mark with something so u know which ones u did)
a week later u should see the pistils start to brown and die back....that means it was successful
wait 6 weeks after it dies back and then let the seeds dry 2 weeks.......enjoy hillbilly breeding project #1

I wouldn't call it easy. It takes excellent genetics and luck. Of course there is crossing and back crossing to help stablize the strain.
