Toke,

Are you in a position to be able to collect rain water when it does rain? (I have no idea what state or country you life in).

I can gather 10-15 GAL per day when it is raining here, and that is using only a 5'X8' piece of plastic tarp set up as a "raincatcher" in the front yard. Simple, and very effective..just make a spot for it to run out into a bucket, and set a big 16 gal. tub under it.

I filter mine through 2 papertowels folded up, and it is pure as any spring water anyone can find, and -0- to 10 PPM.

The rain water here has salt in it.I live by the coast and most of the rain blows in from the ocean.I'am in the south east.I'am checking this spring water company out and they are looking into seeing if the water they have is hard or not.but for me it all comes down to getting a R/O fitler. When I can come up with the extra cash. Thanks that is a good way to catch rain water.PEACE

i too have really hard tap water and i've just realized how my nute disorder is caused by it. so far i am using 9% venegar, it doesn't take much to drop the ph from 8 to 6.5, but if one of my plants die i'll let you know.

never thought of rain water, thanks for the tip
