i live with my parrents so my Box has to be small and stealth so im setting up inside a old clothes dresser in my bedroom. Ive already taken apart the drawers and only using the fronts of them. I Connected all of them so it still looks like the dresser is functioning. lol.
But my question is What to do for lighting? the size of the interior of the dresser is 30x30x15 i was thinking of using 1 18 in cool white flouresent and 1 18 in warm white flouresent for veg and then some CFL for flowering? Heat is a major issue obviously.
Thanks in advance Kronic.

Welcome Kronic.
Growing chronic takes comitment.
You will not be able to provide the care the plants will need while living at your parents.
You are just asking for trouble.
You should wait till growing season and plant outside.
You are putting your parents at risk by growing in their house.

I would grow outdoor if I were you.
But I would also Veg afew plants in that dresser so you have something to clone from in the spring. Or just to have some plants ready for the outdoors with out cloning.
I have a dresser I use for clones and such, I would use two 42watt CFL atleased. But thats just me.

When it comes time to flower, your going to have more to worry about than the sight of your grow. Its going to stink up the place, making your stealth grow much less stealth.. especially if it comes to a parental figure... like shaman says i recommend you grow outside.

As a parent of more than one teen (I've got grandkids), I have to agree with others here. By growing in your room without consent you are placing your family at risk,,and that is just not right.
If you really want to grow wait till spring, find a nice stealthy spot and have at it.
My two cents worth...

Hey K. . . .3,
I have experience growing in a dresser that was 60"l x 30"h x22"w and had ten 32w T-8 flouro bulbs (6500K for veg). the heat issue was taken care of by a 5 inch muffin fan and a large filtered intake from the bottom.
I think that since stealth is an issue, you would be better off with having a couple of big speaker cabinets as not too many people open up speakers, like they do drawers.
You will need alot more light. I would be looking at CFL's, the higher wattage the better (125 to 250w) or a bunch of smaller ones.
I've seen picture of computer grow cabinets and mini fridges, so if there is a will there is a way.
I think that it would be better for you to hold off until you have all the basic things you need to do it right. good lights, good seed, PH meter/PPM meter, PH up, good ferts, fans, timers, thermostat. Who knows, maybe once you are ready to do it right, you'll find a better spot and have read up on growing to have a successful first grow.
Cause usually they are not. Maybe right now, try something legal and exercise your thumb till it turns green.

Hey Kroicmp3,It's great you got the growing bug.But everybody here said it, if you are wanting to grow do it outside away from mom&dad's house. You can make a choice put your mom&dad house on the line and grow in there house or grow outside. If the feds come to your mom & dads house they will go to jail and the feds take there house. When MJ grows it smells alot to,so you will not have a stealth grow. You wouldnt want your kids doing something that would put you in jail and take your house.Do to other as you would like others to do to you.Wait till spring and grow outside and post some pixs of the monsters that grow out doors. PEACE

I agree with Shaman here. The smell is gonna be trouble. Veg in your dresser and transplant outside.

Security
Do not grow on your own land (unless it is remote), so that you can show that someone could have easily trespassed on your property, and violated your land by planting marijuana. A few plants should be fine, but be careful.
You may never get caught, but there is a constant threat of suspicious neighbors, hunters/hikers and worst of all, cops.
I suggest a secure location where your plants won't get confiscated by the cops or stolen by rippers/hunters/hikers. Avoid heavy traffic areas, popular hiking trails, and recreational roads. At all costs, avoid making paths to your grow location. What seems invisible on the ground may be very apparent from the air. Try a new path each time you enter or exit your location; walking along fallen logs, in dense areas and through streams, etc.
Try to have several locations and not plant all your plants in one spot. If your plants do get eaten, ripped off, or taken by cops it is nice to have plants in other locations to fall back on. These separate locations can be close (5-20 mins hike away) or distant (Completely different areas). Planting inside a dense field of brush is very stealthy.
Fertility and sun exposure
Once you have chosen a secure location, check the area is fertile, with lots of green vegetation. Dark or black topsoil with lots of bugs/worms within the first few inches of soil is an indication of a healthy location.
Valley bottoms tend to be ideal locations because rich topsoil often washes downwards and accumulates. It can be challenging to find good sun exposure at the bottom of a valley. Valley bottoms are the first areas to have frost in the fall.
A very important consideration is sun exposure. The more direct sunlight the better (preferably a southern facing slope). North facing slopes are also a good choice.
Choosing a location near a water source saves the major hassle of having to haul water in by hand. A nearby water source allows irrigation (with pumps and hoses), making watering easy. A drawback is that people are also attracted to rivers, streams, etc and may be nearby.
Having a water source near by is great, as it usually means the tap roots of the plant will penetrate deep enough though the last 1/2 or 1/3 of the season and will not require much, if any, supplemental watering. Fertilizing will still be required periodically.
Note: Scout a location during the summer and fall to prepare for planting the following spring. The site needs to have brush removed, and a suitably sized area needs to be cleared for planting. Preparing the holes the previous fall allows soil time to compost and grow beneficial bacteria.
