I can keep a mom gowing with about 1,000 lumens - one big CFL....that seems to do it for me - how big is the box? that would effect my opinion...usually I like 1,000 to 2000 lm per ft2 for a mom...but up that considerably when I am getting ready for cuttings.

you can keep trimming her to stay the size you want...some people even make them look like bonzi trees...so no worries...just never cut more than 1/3 at a time or you can shock her....MJ can be kept for years sometimes...but it is really a seasonal plant and if you keep a mom for more than a year be kind to her....also keep the fertalizer/nutes as low as possible and the lights close, i think that will help you.

I would suggest cutting nutes both in frequency and amount for mom, and only upping it again with a N rich nute when before taking cuttings...only enough nutes to keep her healthy not growing like a weed lol....you will be able to tell what is correct by looking at the plant...I never heard of anybody underfertalizing only over fertalizing in all the posts I have read so I am sure you can adjust to your liking without causing any harm to the mom

to maintain are 1000lum enough, to grow her i would go with at least 5000lum, so just a few CFLs when to growing her for cloning and in the meantime a single big CFL to maintain her
