Rep Power: 265 | | 5X5 Space - 2 600W, or 2 400W????
OK, planning to do the finish work on the flower room this weekend, and want to get the lights today if possible.
This space is 5' X 5', and I've already seen in my veg room that the 600W coverage is not sufficient....so...
My plan was to take that light (600W MH Conversion in a Cool-tube) and move it to the flower room, then change the lamp out for a Enhanced spectrum HPS in either 400 or 600 W, and then add a 2nd light in the same wattage.
I already have a 600W ballast, so would only have to buy one more to make a pair, but, if the 1200 combined watts would be too much in that space, I can eat the 600w ballast and buy 2 ea. 400W, or maybe skip the whole idea and run a 1000 HPS instead and add a 2nd 600W MH to the veg room?
ACK!!! To many friggin options!
What would YOU do????

How about a 1000hps and use a light mover.. I have a 1000watt hps, for veg I use the solarmax1 bulb which is a 400mh and a 600hps in the same bulb... This way you get both spectrums thruogh out. Unreal bulb and u only need a hps

I haven't heard too much good about light movers.
I'd go with two 600 watt lights and excellent cooling and ventilation.

you will need air-cooled light for this setup in a 5x5ft room dude or it will be an oven, my hps space is about this size and i do more then good with an single 400Whps, so maybe give it a second thought, the heat will be a tremendous problem!

Damn,
Y'all were right...
Bought a bit more (OK, quite a bit more) than I had originally planned to when I stopped in at my local hydro shop. Damn good thing the wife is away for the week...
Decided pairing my current cool-tube with another 600 would not give even coverage (my excuse...), I bought 3 of the SilverStar air-cooled reflectors, 2 600W Hortilux HPS Enhanced spectrum lamps, a 600W Euro digital/magnetic ballast, a 1000W HPS/MH Euro Digital/magnetic ballast, a 1000W Cool Deluxe lamp.
Decided to go with a 1000W Enhanced Spectrum MH for the veg room, and 2 of the 600W HPS enhanced spectrum lamps, all in the SilverStar reflectors. I'll sell the cool-tube somewhere and geta few bucks back on it.
Bought a ton of other (of course, MUST HAVE) goodies. Digital Ph and TDS testers, and enough basic gear to get me started on a Hydro set-up for my next grow. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was to get into a basic hydro set-up.
Anyway, got enough crap to keep me busy for a few weeks! Thanks for all the suggestions...I took your advice...:Good Job:

I have the choice of air from three different environments to feed the rooms..1 outside and 2 from interior walls. For 9 months of the year, or more, temps won't be too high...like 30's down to sub-zero F.
For cooling the 2 600W HPS's, I've got a 6" Vortex 460 CFM that will be drawing the air through them, that air will heat the garage area where the fresh air supply comes in blending it with the ambient air. There will be plenty if air moving, no worries there.
I am more concerned with keeping the plant rooms warm when the lights are out after going 12/12.

ISO | get a cheap digital thermometer with a min/max function to monitor this, those go for 10 bucks already, mine was 9 with a hydrometer function too.
and since you are already shopping at large, there are setups for pc hucked weather stations, combo modules for those go around 50-100 bucks, work of radio/wlan and you can monitor the grow from around the world

Key words "when she's tokin some bud"...
If she bitches, ya simply cut her off from the stash for a few days...
THEN the story will change!

Wife damn near never gets upset with me, or anything I buy or do...fact is, she keeps me flippin spoiled rotten! :smokin:
She doesn't smoke, btw...it's all for ME!
That could be changing, however, as she has been fighting an arthritis/tendon issue for the last 3 years, and today, FINALLY she got a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia (probably spelled wrong).
She is tired of the hard-core pain pills she has been taking for years (also had 2 back surgeries), so is considering asking her doc about MJ. She has only smoked one time in her life, at about 16 years of age. My Mrs. is a real straight lady in many ways, and she won't smoke without the MD's permission. I can respect that, and do.
She will need a totally different strain approach than I do, from what I understand. I use mostly Sativa's, and I believe the Indica's are the most pain relieving?

I find the Indica's the most pain relieving. The Sativa's give me more energy to get stuff done and the ability to multi task also.
