Rep Power: 2340 | | Mondo Cool Contest (Ends June 10th) GreenPassion contests have become very popular, please have fun with them! The Contest. This one is a simple contest for all of you to enter. In fact we need all your entries in this one. The decision is to be decided upon by the mods.
In case of a tie, I will cast the deciding vote, and no worries, bribes can be sent to info@greenpassion.org Whoever is the most helpful member for the month.
This winner would be the member who tries to be the most helpful for the month, while post count helps, posts like "yeah dude" and "I agree" are lame responses and are excluded from the contest. Extra credit You will receive mondo extra credit for any well written tutorials. I am feeling greenPassionate today, so every tutorial will count ten to one against helpful posts. Meaning one well written tutorial counts as important as ten helpful posts.
A good tutorial would include pictures. The tutorial can be about anything grow related. From storing seeds to germinating them, making washing machine hash, installing electrical outlets in a grow room....safely, or how you train your plants. If it is grow related, we are interested in a tutorial. So by now you must be saying, wow dude, this sounds way cool, even mondo cool, but if I decide to enter, what do I win?
The prize is way cool too, and theres no hype, just a nice, simple workable hydro kit. I like simple. The Prize:
Supplied by our sponsor, hidhut, Hydroponics - Grow Lights - Digital Ballast - Hydroponics Systems
Deep Water Culture is quickly becoming one of the most popular hydroponics methods for growers everywhere. Deep water culture operates without a seperate reservoir, the plants roots actually live in the reservoir. The dissolved oxygen level is maintained at 100% through constant aeration, so the roots have a constant supply of air as well as water and nutrients. It is simple to set up and promotes large healthy plants that require little to no maintenance.
The DWC starter kit offered by HID Hut can be used for an entire growth and flowering cycle, or can be used just to start plants that weeks later can later be transferred into one of our larger bucket DWC Kits (They all take the same size net pots). We suggest a minimum of 100 watts of light for this DWC kit, per plant - so up to 4 can be placed under a single 400 watt light to start plants, or as few as one can be used under a 400 watt light for a complete growth cycle. Container is 21" x 16" x 7"
The kit includes everything needed including reservoir, net pots, 2 outlet aerator, 2 air stones (to be positioned on opposite ends of reservoir). All you need is Water and Fertilizer. We suggest 2 part Sensi Grow and Sensi Bloom fertilizer for Deep water culture. Retail is $80.00 So I am sure by now you are saying, WOW that really is mondo cool. But wait, theres more mondo cool prizes for you to keep, if you win this months contest!
I know, I know, by now your thinking hey vman, your way too good to us, no need to offer us more prizes, but you guys really do rock, and like I said earlier, I am feeling GreenPassionate today. We want you to get excited about this contest, so we've upped the prize to include: Some sensi gro/ sensi bloom nutrients with it - and I'll even throw in some other additives such as the Bcuzz Blossom Builder tabs. Whatcha thinking now?
I don't know the exact value of the prizes, but it is about $200 bucks, and the best thing is this prize includes just about everything you'll be needing. Just add lights and seeds.

This looks to be a very "Mondo Cool" contest. Thanks, Vid, for providing one more reason to be a GP member.

This was without a doubt, the hardest time the mods have ever had making a decision, hence the delay in making the decision final.
The contest was sooo close.
In the end it came down to Hobo, and Justanotherbozo neck and neck.
I could see em coming round the corner, here comes hobo, oh noo its bozo, back and fourth it went. It really was a tight race. In the end the mods have decided the winner to be bozo!
Hobo, that really was a great video you did on cloning, we all loved it.
You are a fine member, and I hope you can accept the mods decision. Theres always another contest for ya to win.
I love you both!

Yes, Justanotherbozo, Congradradulations! I hope this helps you with your set up and growing the herb! You have done so very well in the last while and are fast approaching the invaluable member list.
Hobo, what can I say? You are the epitome of the Valued member around here. Your work is exemplery and your vid was magnificent. And the help you give to newcomers is wonderful. You are a fine young man, you do us proud.
Any chance you would be the honoury Green Passions Videographer? No pay, just glory! LOL! We are serious about this, my friend. We could use your help.

Rep Power: 329 | | well, i don't know what to say...
lol, which is very rare for me.
i guess first i should say how surprised i am, i thought Hobo was a shoe in with his video, lol, i couldn't compete with that (it was an awesome vid Hobo, thanks for making it, it'll help many newbies like me)
also, i've been going through some serious personal stuff here in the mundane world so i haven't been here as much as i'd have liked.
also, i wasn't trying to win anything, i was just trying to freely give back what was freely given to me, by many of you here and some others on other grow forums.
anyway, a great big thanks to the mods, first for choosing me now but, mostly for being here willing to share their knowledge with me and other noobs like me, i'm not such a newbie anymore thanks to you guys's, that's the real prize.
and thanks to everyone else for sharing, i think that's what i really love about these boards and the cannabis culture, the spirit of sharing.

sorry this has been so long in coming. like i said before, the real world is a bitch to live in and poverty has kept me away for nearly a month, taking cold showers in the dark.
anyway, i'm glad i finally have a chance to give some feedback on the contest prizes.
i recieved the hydro unit itself with everything except the nutes within a week and it was about what i expected, workable but kinda small. i was a little put out that the nutes didn't come and i started to feel like the contest was misrepresented until i talked to Videoman and then to Justin at HID Hut.
i have to say, i was very impressed with Justin and his willingness to spend time on the phone with me. he explained that the nutes hadn't been sent because they were having some problems with the nutrient company (he told me that Advanced Nutrients was trying to take over distribution of thier products, something the current distributors aren't too happy about)
in any event, Justin went out of his way to explain everything to me and to replace the AN nutes with Technaflora nutes because i am already using Technaflora's products now. then, when they arrived, i found that Justin had surprised me with a ph tester (something i had mentioned i needed) to make up for my inconvience.
anyway, now that everything is said and done, i not only don't feel bad any more, i feel great. i recommend HID Hut without reservation, they are a great company that will do whatever it takes to make you happy and keep you happy.

WOW! That is terrific, Bozo. I am so glad it turned out so well for you. I must say, it sounds like you needed a boast, my friend. I truely hope things have improved for you. Life can be hard, but they say it makes us stronger. Sometimes I don't think I want to be THAT strong!
Peace, and so glad to see you back.
I missed ya, buddy.
