Rep Power: 500 | | The Knowledge Project #6 ~ Indoor Growing Welcome fine members of GreenPassion to Knowledge Project #6 - Indoor Growing!
As cannabis cultivation has evolved,we have been discovering new methods of growing our beloved plant. This evolution has brought us out of the fields and into our homes.
Indoor growing has placed cultivation into the hands of fine people like all of you. Each and every one of us will find a new and better way to grow. Sharing this information will help new horticulturalists and enlighten the seasoned veteran.
In this chapter,we will be covering all things indoors including but not limited to lighting, venting, climate, feeding, watering, electrical, pests, neighbors, your company and what to do with all the weed you have grown.
Please remember that Growers new and old will be reading and using these entries. Please make them easy to follow using reliable methods. Rules-This contest will run through the month of October. It starts on 10-01-09 and will end on 10-31-09 at midnight.
All entries will be posted to this thread where they can be judged, and will be judged by a select panel. Please do your own work. We want your methods, Not copy and paste.
No winning twice in a row. We have to spread the love around.
Here's a list of how the judging will go down.
1. Originality...this is not the time for cut and paste jobs: Diagrams are good especially if you Make them yourself, but don't let that limit you.
2. Reliability....we want tried and true methods, based on experience and knowledge...not speculation on advanced techniques
3. Ease of Use...please assume little or no previous knowledge or experience on the part of the reader...organize your info in as practical a way as possible and for goodness sake, please use helpful pictures, diagrams, tables, and graphs as needed.
An ideal entry will be such that most noob questions will be clarified with not just quick fixes but knowledge. Clarify important concepts so that the new grower can learn to make informed choices.
Our prize for the month of October will be a seed pack from High Grade Seeds. High Grade has been our sponsor throughout the contest series. He's a great guy with a great product. Check 'em out here. Marijuana Seeds - Highest Quality Marijuana Seeds Online
Shinningwind will announce the prize for us.She's so cool
So folks, get your entries done for the month of October!
Somebodys Candy Bag will be extra special this year! Start your keyboards!!
I am just the messenger. Pine Boy has a new job so he is busy right now! YAY! Pine Boy! Good luck one and all!

Of course you can participate. Everyone can, even mods. But we just cannot win. I think that is only fair.
Peace

Hi Jangel,
Could a newbie participate? I could do a run down on what I've done as a new grower with very modest means (very low cash flow) highlighting my successes and passing on what didn't work for me? I sure could use those seeds!

-the Corsican. | Without a question you can participate. I will tell you that some of the most read journals we have, are by newcomers learning the ropes. And as their learning curve is one shared by many, that makes it understandable and easily followed. You are a very smart man, and have been studieing this like a science. For this contest, we want the basics of indoor growing, that can be understood by newcomers easily.
So go for it, EVERYBODY!
Peace

Rep Power: 92 | | Ok lets see... OK J. ( or anyone else who may know) Let me see if I'm understanding this contest correctly. Entries should be complete 'Essay's' of how to grow MJ from Start to finish? Or is this more like submitt an essay conserning a particular area of growing that most Newb have questions with (Such as PH or Light Lumens?) I'm not sure if Im understanding exactly what your asking for, and there are no entries to 'Go By' Yet. Sorry If I'm a P.I.T.A Is this an entry that should include BOTH Hydro growing and Soil Growing, or more specific 1 method entries? Can you have 2 entries in for 2 different contests at the same time (I have an entry in the Harvest Contest that ends Nov. 1st- 'I think') Thanks for any clarifications!
Happy Contest'in

that would be cool I think... like a Dr. Seuss slide show... lol
I did a video which is easier then power point... So I would think power point would be cool cause it shows you put work into it also...
imo... and my opinion means absolutely nothing to anyone besides me... LMAO

For me the topic is simply too broad to cover. I started to pen down some ideas but saw it would quickly become a thesis.

Sorry! Blonde Moment ... I'm still not understanding? The link showed just 1 topic (Air exchange) so is this contest for 1 specific area of growing (just pick a subject most Newbs have Q's about), or as Window Suggested an outline begining at Sprouting and ending in the Jar?
Happy Healing

It's no blonde moment, joint girl. "Indoor Growing' encompasses anything you can do within 4 walls. That's a (over)load of info...IMO.
I would hate to pen/create something that omitted key info and then later see that a noob has posted a story of a failed grow because they followed that incomplete info believing it was everything they needed to know.

OK Window...Thanks for the Clear Up!
Yes I agree, that does seem like it could be a tedius, time consuming contest entry, but Hey... If you've got the time!
Maybe the objective is taking ALL That Over LOad of Information and narrowing it down in a simple, Lamen, blonde Girl Terms Covering the most important areas as detailed as possible but in a way thats easy to follow and understand? With the Clarification that other areas may need to be covered in more deetail than others? WHATEVER I JUST SAID?
Happy Details,
JointGirl
