high everybody, just wanted to update this thread so everyone will know
that i've retired this bubbler because i've found something better.
...and by better i don't mean more reliable as my bubbler was dependable
as all get out, supplying me with a steady supply of rooted clones for close
to a year.
what i do mean by better is that this new cloner is equally reliable, with the
same nearly 90 - 95% success, while being superior in every other way.
first, it's cheaper, to build and to run.
second, it's easier, and i mean WAY easier being almost load and forget!
third, it takes up much less space allowing me to start 3 times as many
cuts in the same physical space. ...i fit 54 cuts in a bin measuring 11x14.
and finally, because it's faster, and i get a more fully developed root system
rather than just some roots dangling into my res.
anyway, here is the link to the thread where i learned this method and i'd
suggest you read it through as it is well worth the read. ...if you read it
with an open mind i think you will become willing to at least give it a try
and if you do, ...well, lol, i retired my bubble cloner! World class cloner new at walmart
...btw, this thread was posted in 2006 by a grower from the old OG
site so you can be sure it didn't originate with me, lol, credit where
credit is due.
this was after 9 days, lol.

Don't suppose anyone knows somewhere that would ship these to europe at a reasonable price? Amazon want $70 for shipping.

You could probably build one with some sort of plastic pipe; just cut it several times.

My wife is going to the US on business next month anyway, think I'll just get her to pick one up. It'll be too late for my next set of cuttings but as I'm yet to have one fail it's not a big deal.

This Wallmart cloner is the hot diggidy dog, the easiest way I have found. I really like rockwool, these are easier!
Good luck on the quest.

Are you guys using vermiculite or perlite. I am worried the vermiculte will keep them stem damper than the rest of the medium once I transplant into soil. I have had this problem with my rockwool clones. I found my cloner at a sporting goods store. The nearest walmart is 200 miles away. Its just an ice tray that makes ice for those narrow mouth watter bottles.

Good luck on the quest. | Unfortunately they don't do international shipping. Asda is the UK branch of Walmart and they do ship to Ireland but they don't stock them.

Try both once you get the ice cube maker. Maybe I will also on my next run.

P.M. or contact me if you would like to know the postal code. Surely has to be better than $70. We can work this out.

Again though, thank you very much.

You do not have to have these shaped things to make this work. You can also use pots, with perlite in them and just set in water. Just make sure they always have about 3/4's of an inch of water in the container under them and dome them. (1 cm) You can even use those little six packs you get small garden plants in. Even regular pots will work. Sabasi even uses a larger container with holes in the bottom and several cuttings in each. It is all going to work. Same thing, just a different container. Don't get stuck in the details as they are not what makes this work, it is the wicking motion of the medium that makes it work. Use your imagination.
Peace

So get something else, they also make popsicle freezer things that have a similiar shape. Or small plant pots...don't get stuck on having to have "this" for this to work. You do not need just this for it to work!

I came home all ticked off at walmart and went ahead and used tiny garden pots. of course I was grumbling under my breath the whole time about walmart's stupidity... but I think that just made it more fun |

I didn't read the whole thread but, I have found that if you clone from the lower branches you can use just about any rooting jel and rooting horomone in any seedling mix with either a heating blanket or heating pad and get 90% to 95% to live. no wilt without a dome, or straight water with a week solution nutes.
