To make a lgith proof vent you can simple put a cover or angled shade over the intake/exhaust. could look something like this: Master Flow 6 In. Round Wall Vent - 6 Per Carton - WVA6 at The Home Depot.

As for soundproofing, i dont know alot about that. Ive heard of some foam products, as well as just thick fiberglass insulation. heres more info: How to Soundproof a Room | eHow.com

Default vent

Hello. There's a few ways to put in light proof vents. If you are drywalling both sides you can put one hole in the outside wall down low and the other on the inside wall up high.Just dont put sound proofing in that cavity so the air will flow.Scent you are useing 2"x2" whitch is only 1"1/2 inches get the fountdation sheets of foam there pink in color. There 1 1/2" thick. If you would use 2x3 studs you could use fiberglass insulation and stop the sound dead. Here's a drawing of a darkroom vent I use and a pix of them in the door. Peace

There is a spray foam insulation that comes in an aerosol can, with a 2 in thick layer between drywall like your talking about will really cut down on sound and vibration.

Soudafoam SMX (isocyanate Free)

There are a few other brands as well, hope this helps.
