I am doing my homework into starting my first grow and I have been researching what I will use as my grow cabinet. I have come up with a few nice options for my grow. However, my grow is going to more than likely happen in an attic which is going to be a ****ing oven in the summer months. With that being said, I was thinking of using an old side-by-side refrigerator/freezer or one of those old school stand up freezers. You can pick these things up at used appliance stores for next to nothing. My question is 1.) has anyone seen or heard of anyone using an appliance like a fridge for a growroom cabinet? 2.) assuming I use a standard size fridge how many plants can I get in there? (i am growing NL#5 most likely) Keep in mind I know only what I have read about SOG and ScrOG and wouldn't know my head from my ass when it came to making that work. Ideally, 2-3 plants would be good.

Any advice using the setup I listed is greatly appreciated. Also, if there is any other general advice that you would have liked to have had before your first grow would be cool too.

Hi Green,
Welcome to GP. About your questions, I have not heard anybody growing inside a fridge but I am sure some of our gurus will help you with that. I have read so many different grows (there was a guy who made a grow in a Samsonite travel case).
About the space, in any regular fridge you can acomodate 2 plants with a Scrog method. And if you have high temperatures in summer you will need extra ventilation in a fridge or in any grow cabinet or you will have a temperature problems

yes a few people have done very succesfull fridge grows, scrog and sog will be best suited to a fridge/freezer grow.

Yeah.. there is a guy named "freezerboy" over on icmag that uses a stand up freezer for his grow space.
