i think TEMPERED glass is more heat resistant but glass will work. tell the guy cutting it that it was a HID for a warehouse or gym or something and that it gets hot so they might know something better....or go with tempered glass.

ONLY use tempered glass, my friends. Should something happen the peices will not come out all angular and jagged and will not be as much of a danger to those nearby.

Just measure it TWICE...then go to a glass store oor the hydro shop and get ya a new one. Should be less than $20.

Take your hood to the glass shop and let them measure it, before ordering. Tempered glass is a special order item for any glass shop. Tempered glass is created with a heat treatment after cutting so, you only get one shot at getting it right. Normally it takes about a week to get a piece made. Good luck with it.

Very cool, down here glass shops don't mess with it. They send out when they need a piece. Back to the original point though, once you get a piece of tempered glass made, it can't be trimmed or recut. Order carefully... Peace
