Rep Power: 34 | | don't get ripped off by opportunistic scumbags
hello all,
with respect, a little 'tidbit' for you all.
when i was a new grower three years ago, i encountered a hardy pest here in Oregon called the Willamette Mite. the conspiracy theory is that the government engineered a cannabis-crazy mite and released it here in Oregon because they wanted to pollute the underground community with these monsters.
some people here use AVID on their marijuana. if you use AVID on your marijuana, please tell everyone that you share it with because you are potentially going to kill them, or at least cause neural disorders such as peripheral neuropathy and depression and making everything worse. the MSDS for AVID says 'for ornamental use only' so if you want to smoke/vape/eat/drink/rubunderyourarmpits mmj you have no business putting this product onto MMJ. the black-market is full of AVID from 'grow-houses' that the Chinese and Mexican nationals set up, AVID is only detectable with a lab test unfortunately [or if you get "buzzy-numb" lips...chemical...chemical...] and within a year of moving to Portland, OR i had progressed to full-blown AIDS from all the toxins in the BM weed.
i have to grow my own. why? because BM weed will kill me. AVID interacts with many antiretrovirals, causing all sorts of reactions, i went into anaphylaxis from smoking weed that had AVID on it.
well, there are opportunists [life-threatening], and there are opportunists [greedy scumbags]. let's talk about a readily available product called 'That Stuff'.
"That Stuff" is, in essence, a gallon of water with a trace of citric acid. the instructions say to use a 'teaspoon of dish liquid' to their product, and never to dilute it [water] with water because it will 'lose it's effectiveness'. these thieves charge $15.00 a gallon for this water from, let's face it, sick and dying people. if you are selling or making money off of "That Stuff", pull your head out of your ass and repent. send all your evil-gained money to India so the farmers there don't have to commit suicide en masse.
the thing is, it only takes a third of a teaspoon of todays' dish-liquids per gallon of water [1cc] administered thoroughly [using a clean pump-sprayer] when mites appear in veg to 'keep the population down'...they are an inevitability where my geography is, i have had them and battled the Willamette Mite for three years, and the best way to get rid of the mites is to use 1cc of palmolive or similar dish soap on your ganja. 1cc/gallon in the pump-sprayer, thoroughly applied, and you will barely notice a slight, soapy smell in the room. no big deal, no harm done. if you have mite infestation during flower and it's severe, use the soap as directed. you can rinse off forming colas with water [it's a plant! amazing! it likes to get wet!] the next day if you want, but it's totally unnecessary. my grow is always good, hearty, and blessed by the Creator.
this dish-soap trick is something i remember from growing in high-school, thirtyfive years ago. i never needed it until moving to Oregon. i have never burned a plant using the 1cc/gallon mixture in two years, under the 1000w sodium.
this may have been discussed elsewhere, they are just two pet-peeves that i wanted to skronk about. and to the makers of "That Stuff" Plant Wash...a big stinky popcorn fart to you!
happy growing
i can't afford all the bells-and-whistles
it's a good thing that GOD doesn't, either.
love,
durt
and another helpful hint---always use the coldest fresh water available. cannabis doesn't like warm water. it gets very sad... | | The Following 8 Users Say Thank You to durtro For This Useful Post: | |

Thanks for posting this, man.
I'm on Viracept and Truvada. I needed to know this.
I've never had to deal with bugs. Lucky, I guess. But, I really appreciate this warning. This sounds very, very bad. It's one of the charms of making medicine illegal.
If you outlaw medicine, outlaws get into the medicine business.
I'm not saying big pharma isn't crooked. I'm just saying we don't need gangsters growing meds for patients. Nothing good will ever come of it.

In truth, it's not really original. I was inspired by a bumper sticker, myself:
If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns.
Another great one: Where I'm from "GUN CONTROL" means aiming!

Here's the cool lawn care formula, that uses Palmolive soap 1 can regular beer (any kind, NOT lite) 1 can cola (any kind, NOT diet) 1 cup apple juice 1 cup Palmolive soap regular (NOT anti bacteria type) 1 cup ammonia

i don't use the anti-bacterial dish soap but if that's all i had, i would go ahead. you aren't going to make an "established" plant toxic with a 1cc/Gal application
simple simple simple
it's so simple, i just let God do all the work, for the most part.

The dish soap must NOT be anti-bacterial or it can kill the natural bacteria in the soil.
yes, and many recreational growers PROMOTE using chemicals all around their houses, around the base of the house and your growroom. I can never see how this can be good for the ones living in the house, or the plants in the grow room. And I think it was AVID they said to use. Just because someone purports to know what they are doing, does NOT mean they do. I think this is very old school and does not respond in anyway to the awful affects this garbage has on the human health. If it sounds too good to be true, then it mostly is too good to be true.
Also, Neem oil and SM-90 are the best natural things to use. It has worked for many many growers so why go the chemical way when we know there are alternatives? There are many alternatives on this site.
Peace
