This is exactly what I've been looking for. I plan on using 22gal tubs. Would northernberry be a good fit for this, or will they get too big?

I'm looking to gather parts for this project and have hit one little snag...
There are two lighting fixtures with the same Lowe's part number

FV08-038

VB1-3WW

Does anyone know which one was recommended? Does it even matter? I'm using 22gal tubs if it makes a difference.

Thanks.

It's possible that the difference is the finish used on the light fixture (one might be white while the other one might be nickel plated) but I can't be positive. To be honest it really shouldn't matter. A light fixture is a light fixture for the most part, especially when they cost around ten bucks per unit.

Is it alright to coat the insides of the tub with a few layers of duct tape before applying the foil tape? I want this thing to glow as little as possible. Coating the outside with black duct tape is another option.

EDIT: The foil tape is sufficient by itself. ;)

I bought a cheap 10 dollar soldering tool. I recommend these because its so easy to cut out holes.

now just mount the fan so it blows air out, I accidentally mounted it the wrong way the first time.

For some air flow, you need a passive intake...cut a hole near the bottom of the tub, I put a pvc tube to redirect light and then just caulked it..

.....stay tuned for "how to wire a computer fan"
I'm setting up my grow box. If the fan is at the top do you have a problem with light leak

Hello all, I have a quick question. instead of the foil tape could you just paint the inside of the bins? flat white?

And, as for the carbon air scrubbers, I made a six inch diameter by 2 foot long air scrubber and saved only a few bucks. I am sure you could make a cheaper one but they are really quite reasonable these days.
